Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said in an interview that Rush Limbaugh is only an"entertainer" whose show is "incendiary" and "ugly."
I'm glad that someone in the party has enough guts to tell it like it is. Bravo!

What we all fear from the likes of Joe the Plumber and Sarah the hunter is this: the Republican right wing of the party is seriously considering running these jokers and more like them for office in the next elections. I wouldn't be surprised to see Limbaugh as the next RNC chairman. If the moderate Republican has not become totally extinct,
(s)he needs to do something quickly to redeem her party as a viable part of the two party system of the USA. Jokers are wild and untrustworthy. The voting citizens of this country will not fall for such jokers again.
GOP head Micheal Steele is not off to a good start. He is advocating the continuation of the Dem light policies that have driven off the indies/Libertarians, alienated many conservative Repubs and this is not giving Americans much of a choice between the two parties. Steele also put his foot in his mouth last week by saying the New Deal didn't create any jobs...many understood what he meant but his words were poor. He meant that the New Deal didn't create permanent jobs but temporary and far too many as make work jobs-none that lasted for long. So Steele needs to think if he wants to strengthen his party or be content to be a shadow of the Dems and fit only for occasional opposition.
Trish, now if Micheal Moore was the Dem public face, you'd have a lightening rod that would drive the Repubs to power in the next election. That wouldn't be any good for the nation, the Repubs need to be hungry (maybe rediscover the principles that they claim to have) for another few years. Also some Americans will learn under a Dem economy that hard work/success doesn't mean anymore then it did under a compassionate Repub one.
If people actually woke up or cared about the nation's long term future-both parties would have collapsed some time ago.
'T'ain't fair, to be sure, but Rush ol' buddy, it's but a small measure being done to you, of what you do to anyone who disagrees with you EVERY DAY EVERY HOUR you're on the air. You take small meaningless snippets that are part of larger statements, and do your best to make everyone believe they mean something very different than their obvious meaning as apart of whatever the full statement was.
And that, dear Rush, is why I despise you. I can't object to anything you say that's true, and I refuse to be offended that you insult and ridicule me and my fellow "libruls" as constantly as you breathe, but your constant drumbeat of half-truths, inuendo and outright lies, is just mind boggling. While I don't mind being boggled, I HATE being preached to by the boggler.

Love it, dontcha' know? --snicker-- They ran the country and the Republican party straight down the tubes and as we watched, a nation, teetering on the edge of the abyss, was (and is) being wrestled from their grasp before it falls -- even while they try to continue to push it over the edge.
Now that the GOP has shot itself, they're turning on their own, like rats that eat their own young...and I will watch them continue their meltdown with some sense of amusement and a realization that there will be a small measure of justice for what they've done if it's nothing more than amusing me. For a change.

I don't mind paying the extra in taxes if the government will actually work....perhaps now with Obama in office we might have enough competence back to get a government that actually works....like in the pre Reagan days......I know our republican enemies will bring up Carter...but hell bad as he may have had it from 8 years of Nixon-Ford policies and the same OIL men who've brought us Iraq........he was a genius at good government compared to W........
At the end of the day, we've got exactly what the country needs....let's hope the democrats in congress don't screw it up like they did with Clinton!
That said if taxing us a bit more will help get us back in bidness that's OK.
So ready willing able and happy to be asked to pay more......just don't blow it on senseless wars or wasteful [and I don't mean the arts, education, healthcare] spending!
But if it's not, count on the mindless dittoheads to throw Steele under the bus.
Because conservative comments about Obama aside, it is Limbaugh who has reached messianic status. A whole narrow-minded populous is addicted to his fabricated talking points. What would they do without his daily drivel? How dare anyone on the sinking ship point out the obvious?!
I for one applaud Michael Steele for his remark. As Michele Bachmann said, "You be the man!"
We are still tired of Bush's habit of pushing the envelope, and I think we crave some moderation. suddenly everybody is already looking at the Conressional elections of 2010, and thinkin how do we win? I don't think Limbaugh or moore would be good choices, because both risk alienating centrists. I think politically you lose that way, pick up a couple extremists, lose a dozen moderates. Bad numbers there. Steele knows this, but unfortunately there is a strong core of intransigent folk in the Republicans that love Limbaugh. They are not helping the fortunes of the political party. I am actually happy about that, but I just think it needs to be objectively noted.
Looks like the repub hierarchy should have warned the Nazi arm of their party about their window dressing with Steele. Some just don't accept tokens.
and the thought crossed my mind, Limbaugh had better change his tune, and hope Obama and this administration do not fail...cause if they do he could very easily be standing in line at the unemployment window with the rest of his cronies!
Stay tuned for the continuing saga, or better yet watch FOX and get a good chuckle.
