Just a moment ago an old song started going through my mind:
"Deep in my heart I do believe that we shall overcome someday..."
Is it possible that "someday" has actually come?
Honeyyoumarriedasocialist
You are certainly anti America so why do you stick around? Their are many dictatorships for you to join around the world as well as a variety of fascists countries to chose from.
Is Elizabeth an alter or just an ignorant bigot?
"I'm not scared...but I am not supporting Obama..never will...you are going to be sorry you elected him....I guess we will see the white house decor changed to BET style or ghetto style...and the presidential limo will have the 24 inch rims placed on it with new loud speakers playing rap music...and oh yeah....the secret service will start wearing Black Panther apparel.....it's coming....just wait....he's going to embarass this country...."
Embarrass the country? You already embarrassed yourself with your ignorance Elizabeth. Frankly your comment made me sick.
Other then that, I feel great Carla!!!! I feel hope, and peace... and positive energy. I stayed up to see that he won, and then had to go to bed so I missed all the wonderful speeches and tearful people. I've been crying all morning with happiness.
Hopefully the next four years will educate people like Elizabeth up there, so they can wake up and realize that no, they are not better then anyone else. It takes ALL of us to make this nation great, and there is no room in "CHANGE" for that ignorant crap.
I am elated Carla! I am so excited. I'm very proud of us for electing Obama. I'm watching the reports come in from around the world. Even the rest of the world is having hope for our country. It's a proud day for the US!
Don't let folks like Elizabeth worry you. Most of what they say is for shock value, to elicite a response. She will benefit from this new administration just like everyone else will.
Make a little love;
Get down tonight! Get down tonight!
Yup, still dancin' and still smilin'! And like Michael Moore, I'm still pinching myself. We did a great thing yesterday; America is on it's way back to being the great nation it once was.
" I'm not scared...but I am not supporting Obama..never will...you are going to be sorry you elected him...."
Even that "you are going to be sorry" was a little over the top.
A warning like that is quite the assumption. Some might be sorry, but some might be thrilled with him to the end. You can't make that call for everyone. You have every right to your opinions but sometimes they should be kept to yourself.
This is the beginning of a new era. If Obama can successfully survive his first term with all the current problems, he will indeed show us what he's really made of.
Don’t go out of your way to prove Obama wrong

Great Expectations!?
There hasn’t been much to cheer about in America in recent years. The result, it would seem, has been a “down in the mouth” national language.
The flip side of that is the strong desire to make things better and to bring to an end what seems to be a downward spiral. In many respects, this has all culminated in the recent and dramatic historic events we have all been a party too, and witness of. It was a very emotional wave of perceived need that brought the call for ‘change’ that also brought us our first black president.
These same emotions, however, can serve more than one master. They can fuel fear every bit as much as they can fuel hope. Regardless of personal perspectives on issues, all of us now are pulled by great expectations. In conversations, people can be heard talking about the myriad challenges this new president and administration will confront: the economy, housing and foreclosures, the banking and credit industry debacle, foreign relations and national security, and so forth. What is also heard, unfortunately, is a lot of very limiting ‘wonk speak’ all too ready to deride this president elects’ goals and plans. This, of course, just hours after his successful election. Great expectations are only natural, but these are emotional times and each of us would do well to appreciate this and to guard against languishing in the morose national language alluded to earlier. It favors no worthy purpose or outcome.
Obviously, many challenges do lie ahead for all of us. However, of all those challenges this president elect may face as he attempts to engage the beast of change the most formidable may be ‘the small mind’. After all, a scared mind will always say - no!
Throughout his campaign – indeed, his life, this president elect has believed in people. ‘Like’ him or not, he truly believes this. In truth, he could not have accomplished what he has throughout his life if he didn’t, and his election is absolute proof that his belief in what the American people are capable of rings true.
It is also true that advice is cheap. Still, if I could give America just one piece of advice right now, it would be this – for all of our sake, don’t go out of your way to prove our next President wrong.
