Yep! Bob Barr, former congressman (R-Ga), has entered the Presidential race as a Libertarian candidate.
He joins Ralph Nader as a "wild card" choice for Americans who want a choice other than the main stream candidates. While some believe Nader will pull votes from the Democrats, others speculate that Barr's campaign will hurt John McCain.
Barr quit the Republican party two years ago because was disappointed that the party had failed to cut spending and accused it of scaling back civil liberties to fight terrorism.

It is believed that Ron Paul and Barr agree with each other. In fact, some say Paul will endorse Barr. But, just like Ron Paul (or even Nader), Bob Barr has absolutely no chance of winning the Presidency. So WHAT"S THE POINT??

The point is ... to keep the Libertarian Party before American conservatives who are deserting the "progressive" leaders of the Republican Party. But, if they are going to all that trouble to keep the Libertarian Party visible, they should at least get a candidate who appears electable to conservatives instead of a loser.
