UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - United Nations officials found vials of dangerous chemicals, which had been removed from Iraq a decade ago, in a U.N. building in New York, but U.N. officials said on Thursday there was no danger.
The FBI was called in to help remove the substances.
The material was phosgene, a chemical warfare agent, U.N. spokeswoman Marie Okabe told a news conference.
The inspections unit said in a statement that the chemicals had been found last Friday.
The Iraqi weapons inspectors came across the material as they were closing their offices, which are housed in a building near the U.N. headquarters in Manhattan, said Ewen Buchanan, a spokesman for the inspectors.
Phosgene was used extensively during World War I as a choking agent, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

Anyways, this is a case of the stupidity of the UN. Why would they bring such a weapon to the UN headquarters? Thats asking for disaster. Thank God we were lucky that nobody was hurt.
It is stupidity on the part of the UN to have a weapon like this in the building where anyone could have picked it up. I am just thankful that no one was hurt, too.
I have believed all along, in what this president has said. The libs and Dems, are sore loosers, they cant accept the fact, that a Republican got into office, not for four years but eight years. They have tried and tried to smear his name and undermine his policies and most of what they have said , are the lies.

You know damn good and well that the WMD Dubya and his minions were using to whip the country into a frenzy were of the "mushroom cloud" type that Condi so eloquently referred to. We know all about mustard gas and such going back to the days when Rummy, Cheney and the boys were glad to see Sadam have it in his battles with Iran... not to mention George Herbert Hoover Walker's blind eye turned to the Kurds and the Shia after the Gulf War.
Face it, WMD are the "wide stance" in the men's room stall. Nobody's buying it.
But, please, don't let me stop you. I hope and pray the Republicans will stand before the country in '08 and keep saying:
1. Stay the course in Eye Rack
2. The healthcare coverage system in this country is perfectly fine
3. Global Warming is a hoax

I also agree with what you are hoping the Repubs say in '08 with a slight adjustment to #2 and #3. We need to get the government and insurance companies out from deciding what health care people get and put that power back in the doctor/patient realationship. Global warming is real but not man made. The hoax is that we cause it.
