The passion of love – the depth of emotion – the connection to the spirit and soul. And then, one day, it ends. Tragically, through death.
Whatever the relationship, emptiness remains. Everybody experiences it differently. Some can move ahead and beyond with greater capacity; for others' the sense of loss is more difficult to endure. Regardless, the wish, hope and dream to spend just "One More Day" is universal.
Mitch Albom captures this core, fundamental desire so beautifully. Through the life of Chuck "Chick" Benetto, he tells the story of Chuck's opportunity to spend one more day with his Mother. And, how it changed his life.
"For One More Day" speaks of the opportunity to say all those things you wished you had, to hear answers to those questions that have plagued you forever, and provides you the opportunity to understand, to accept to forgive and to be forgiven.
I have experienced great loss in my life and relate to how compelling that wish/need to spend "One More Day. Thanks Mitch for capturing this emotion and sharing it with all of us.
