Thank you sincerely, George W. Bush

You have single-handedly done more lasting damage to your painfully failed ideology than any number of liberals could've ever hoped to do, similar to how you've aided al Qaeda beyond their wildest dreams.

You have literally destroyed the GOP brand name, and have made it possible for America to see its first black leader ever, rise to the level of president.  You have ensured a solid majority of democrats in power in congress, and have thus paved the way for another round of generational successes for this nation.

By destroying the republican party, you have done something beyond patriotic.  I would call it heroic.  I truly believe that a statue should be erected in your image, in order to honor your service.  Without you, there's no telling how much more damage your party would've caused.

Just try to imagine, for instance, a John McCain/Sarah Palin presidency for a moment.  Perhaps, nothing but that could ever hope to surpass your presidency, in terms of disastrous failures.  Because of you, we have all been mercifully spared that experience.

True, this glorious achievement of destroying the republican party has not come without great national sacrifice, but, in the long term, I believe that this will be seen as a necessary burden for us all to bear.  If we hadn't been forced down the path of catastrophic failure by you and your administration, we would surely not have been so swift and thorough in removing your party from positions of power.

As a true, patriotic American, I wish to extend my deep gratitude to you, for doing such a marvelous job of securing America's future by destroying the future of your own party.  Thank you.  This nation and the entire world are indebted to you.

Yes. Yes. YES!

In particular, despite the obvious quality of the man himself, it is likely that America would not have elected Barack Obama president at this point in its history if the alternative had not been proven to be, in essence, suicidal for the nation.

Thanks, George, from Canada. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

10+ as usual for Clark Kent.

Traitor Bush leaves office with the lowest approval rating in history. Absolute worst president ever.

Good bye - good riddance.

Agreed. We have a friend who is Republican - the good, old-fashioned kind - in Chicago. We sent him an email inviting him to attend a MoveOn inauguration party as a joke and he sent us back an email saying that he would be attending a Republican Party re-org meeting at their present HQ's - which a picture of an old, dilapitated outhouse attached. Let's hope they do the required soul-searching about these last 8 years. A two-party (if not multi-party) system makes everyone better, IMO. But both parties need to represent themselves honestly and with integrity for the system to work well.

(BTW - connection request is STILL pending.)

Only one conclusion is available, Bush is a Democrat! He did more for the Democratic Party than any politician in history.

If BO does not get the job done this first term look for a third party president in 2012.

Oh jeez...I just realized...1288 emails awaiting me, and 95% of them are undoubtedly article invite spam. Yahoo.

You know, I'm a bit torn, politically. Part of me wants to see every filthy republiCON rounded up and locked away for their treasonous behavior over the past 8 years. Actually, anyone that still supports that fricking walking disaster bush should be locked away as a threat to others around them.

On the other hand, I can't deny that I appreciate the outreaching that Obama has been doing. I see his point. My dilema is that I know better than to pretend that bush worshippers can ever be civil or sincere, and for that reason, a sizeable part of me wants to be as big an asshole to them as they've been to us for the past 8 years. I really don't WANT to get along with those losers. I want them to just go away. I've had my fill of their toxic venom, frankly. They're idiots, and always will be.

Already, for instance, Limpballs and other anti-American wingnut hate merchants are refusing to support our president in a time of war. Remember when we were called unAmerican for that? Remember when these rabid wingnuts actually accused us of treason, because we refused to cave into the multitudes of lies and choking propaganda of this last filthy corrupt white house? They make me feel like vomiting bile. I just have nothing but contempt for these lowlife scum at this point.

Yeah, I'm ecstatic that Obama won. Thank GOD for that. And, I'm equally ecstatic that there is now a firm, undeniable progressive mandate in this nation. But, I'm still pretty pissed off at how the lowlife loser scum behaved in the past several years. They don't deserve this nation. Yet, they'll continue to live here, and just bitch and moan for the next eight years, over nothing.

They'll continue to make stupid shit up, such as "Obama doesn't salute the flag,' or "Obama is a muslim," or "Obama isn't American," or whatever idiotic drivel they can invent. And, mostly, they'll just get in the way of progress. While the rest of the nation wants to move forward, these asswads will do nothing but stand in the way.

Just wait and see what happens in congress now. My educated guess is that the republiSCUM will continue to be nothing but obstructionists, and will attempt to block every meaningful piece of legislation brought forth, yet again. They really have nothing else. The party is nothing but a disease, imo.

Shame on me...that's not the attitude that Obama is trying to project, is it? Sorry, but I've been watching these filthy ass monkeys since I was old enough to pay attention, and I've never seen a single redeeming quality in them.

"If BO does not get the job done this first term look for a third party president in 2012. "

If a third party rises to the national level, to the point where it's a contender for the white house, the GOP will go the way of the whig party that it replaced. I sincerely believe that the GOP will disappear regardless, but I don't think it'll happen that soon. I'd say probably by 2020, the world will finally be rid of that scourge. However, as long as the religio-kooks and neocons still maintain power in the party, the GOP will continue to flail about and cause as much havoc and destruction as they can muster.

It's inevitable that it will eventually collapse and disappear, however. They sealed their fate the moment they chose to be the party of vicious racism and hateful intolerance. They will NEVER be able to gather favor from hispanics, blacks, gays, or any other minority group, and, seeing as how whites will soon be in the minority, the party is doomed. They will never be able to erase the racism that brought them to power over the past 40 years.

I am glad you are back Clark, and you have certaintly hit the nail on the head. IT was great to see him get on that copter. Finally over, the most horrible eight years in my 59 year old memory.

Whatever happens with "our turn", this country is different now. Many who have stood on the sidelines, wondering who to speak to, now know what to do.. We know where we are, and we are going to stay there. Our turn or not!!! Let the games begin. It will be interesting to see the reaction when the opposition realizes, WE REALLY ARE NOT PLAYING A GAME!! Hope to hear more of you.. Ellen B

The Bush administration was a reductio ad absurdum of Reaganism and has served to highlight its deficiencies of that. I am not sure though that the Republican party is destroyed or that we have a lot of time to provide something better--public popinion is notoriously fickle. People have short memories.

"the Republican 'brand' is hardly dead. "

Wanna bet? It's a walking zombie right now. They have literally NOTHING to offer this nation except their vile hatred and intolerance, and frankly, the public ain't buying it anymore. Sorry. Your party is a shit heap that's been permanently flushed. Deal with it, and start preparing for the party that will rise up to replace it.

"Next time we won't have a sucker like McCain opting for federal funds to run a campaign. "

Right. Your party is morally and ethically bankrupt, as well as bankrupt of ideas. In fact, name one single worthy piece of legislation that's EVER come forth from modern "conservatism" that's benefitted average working Americans. I seriously doubt there is one. The American public has finally awakened to the fact that the republiSCUM party has NOTHING.

Yet, you delusional moonbat freaks will continue to delude yourselves into believing that it's not the ideology that's diseased. Nope, it's the way that policies were enacted and the individuals heading the policies that are to blame.

Sorry, but you're dead wrong once again. Your party is a walking corpse, thankfully.

"The republican party isn't destryed. And Bush...well, I'm sure history will prove you wrong. "

Right. Will that be before or after he's been convicted of war crimes and egregious violations of the constitution that you wack jobs will vault him to legendary hero status?

Excellent article, Clark Kent.

I have been in "the heartland" all week, and had considered writing my own appreciation of George Bush when I return to civilization.

The bankruptcy of the Republican Party has not yet penetrated the consciousness of many right wingnuts on Gather - but GOP politicos continue to bail out.

The Republicans have all-but-abandoned the Senate seat that Martinez is quitting in Florida.

And, with Kit Bond jumping the sinkiing ship, Missouri may yet go solidly blue.

"Your party will have maybe eight years in there and then the people will want something different (change) and then the Republicans will be right back in."

First off, I don't have a party. I am, and always have been, entirely independent. In my adult life, I've never signed allegiance to either party, and rarely have volunteered anything to either, although a $10 contribution to Kerry in 2004 and a $100 contribution to a republican friend of mine who ran for state office are the exceptions.

Secondly, you don't get it. This country has now crossed a threshold that will forever be left behind us. Nevermore will this nation view race as a barrier, yet your party only exists today BECAUSE of the core racism of the party itself.

In this election, something like 98% of blacks voted for Obama. Knowing how the GOP has treated blacks and every other minority in the past, how much do you REALLY think you're going to sway that number in the future? The party is, has been, and always will be the party of vicious racism, ever since they embraced the vicious racism of the deep south, as their ticket to temporary power. They've ridden the racism train as far as it will take them, and will now go extinct.

Trust me, the GOP will not exist in 20 years. There WILL be another party that will rise up and take its place, and it will be devoid of the Christian nazis, the murderous neocon goons, and the core racists. I, for one, anxiously look forward to it.

The Republican Party as it has been is most certainly dead, or at least on its last breath. The best my Republican friends can say now is, "I'm jaded," and "I've decided to just stay out of politics," and "I didn't like any of our candidates so I sat this one out," . . . Not one can defend what their party has done.

Except for the criminal acts that they committed in order to acquire that goal, and in consideration of just how dangerously close they came to fulfilling their dream.

Heard a hilarious line on Malloy's program last night. An emailer said "Am I the only one in America that would've loved to see this ceremony end with Laura shoving George out of the helicopter?"

"I wouldn't be surprised to see a Republican comeback."

It'd be far easier, imo, for a third party to rise up to replace it, than it would be for the GOP to completely overhaul its shitty image to the point where any logical, sensible, critically thinking human would ever consider voting to support them again.

"I'm happy to say that my representative, John Yarmuth spoke out today in favor of investigating Bush Administration crimes. "

That's OUTSTANDING! This will really be Obama's first great test. Will he force a full restoration of the rule of law, or will he be yet another modern-era president that stupidly excuses the criminal acts of a previous administration? If he's REALLY about change, he'll immediately and aggressively pursue a full, thorough, unrelenting investigation, and then follow through with prosecution for all parties involved in the criminal conspiracies committed over the past 8 years, beginning with the stolen election of 2000. I'd like to see the criminally corrupt SCOTUS members who violated their oaths of office impeached and removed from office for that as well.

"Bush did have a good relationship with China"

I wouldn't call that relationship good, any more than I would call the bizarre symbiotic relationship between Bin Laden and Bush "good," either. China needs American consumerism, or it faces economic collapse. Bush needed China to continue funding his assinine, reckless debt spending. Without one, the other would cease. Not exactly a lasting, healthy relationship, if you asked me.

1. Internet Tax Nondiscrimination Act -- current U.S. federal law that bans Internet taxes in the United States. Signed into law on December 3, 2004, by George W. Bush

CLEARLY, THAT BENEFITS ALL

2. September 18: Authorization for Use of Military Force
No attacks on American soil since 911 THANKS TO BUSH. Of course, you benefit, but you will not acknowledge.

3. Do-Not-Call Implementation Act -- how annoying were those phone calls. Sounds like ANTI business, pro consumer. Right, Clark????

4. PROTECT Act of 2003 (Prosecutorial Remedies and Other Tools to end the Exploitation of Children Today Act)

5. United States Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Act of 2003

6. Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003

7. Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003

8. Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003

9. Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM)

10. Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act

11. No Child Left Behind Act

I could go on... but what's the point? Liberals don't acknowledge the truth even when it smacks them in the face.

I hope he does the responsible thing, even though I understand why he might not want to waste time on it when we have so many other messes to clean up. Don C., do you pay attention? Many of our representatives in Washington tried to fight this mess. Why should they be fired because the Republicans smacked them down every step of the way? We should thank them for sticking in there and trying to do our dirty work for us.

It is amusing to see how some feel that with Obama, a new dawn will break, and when he sprinkles his fairy dust, all will be OK. Just to mention a few of the magics Obama will perform almost over night: Americans will be paying less taxes, all will have great health care, all our military will come home, and we won't ever have to worry about terrorists again.

For those reasons, I am glad to see Obama in charge, and Bush back in Texas. We won't have Bush to bash around anymore, other than those who will continue to blame Bush for Obama's mistakes for the next four years, and Clark won't have anything to write about.

Now, we get to hate Obama. Within a year, he will be as hated as Bush is today. It will happen to Obama when forces in Afghanistan or Pakistan mistake a meeting of tribal elders for an unwise gathering of Taleban and al-Qaeda. Guess who gets the blame for that? You just can't please everybody and Americans have a way of ridiculing their president and the momentum continues to gather more ridicule like a snowball going downhill. Look at the campaign promises Obama has hinted he will have to break. Says he didn't know the U.S. was in such a dire economy when he made the promises. He's already being taken to task for those with barely one day in office. There isn't an American president since Eisenhower who hasn't ended up maligned and hated at some point or other, and being depicted negatively by the world's cartoonists and press.

In unison now with the new mantra: 1 2 3 ~ I hate Obama

"Uh, yeah.... how did that IMPEACHMENT workout?"

It didn't. Dickless Pelosi and Reid chose to let him slither away unscathed, to face prosecution after he was gone. He'll either face war crimes trials here or from other nations, but he WILL face them. He's violated international laws, and WILL be held to account, one way or another.

Btw, how did that "Edward's affair is going to end Obama's career" story work out for ya, big feller? Funny, but it seems as though that story just pretty much went exactly the way that I predicted it would...nowhere. LOL! I want to hear THAT outta YOUR mouth, dipshit! HAHAHAHA!!

"1. Internet Tax Nondiscrimination Act "

This was introduced by both republicans and democrats. Try again, sparky. We're looking for legislation that was introduced and signed into law entirely by republiSCUM.

"2. September 18: Authorization for Use of Military Force"

Sorry, but this not only put the US directly in violation of international law, but also clearly harmed the poor and middle class, while lavishing massive debt wealth upon corporate welfare whores.

"No attacks on American soil since 911 THANKS TO BUSH. Of course, you benefit, but you will not acknowledge."

Lying piece of shit. Anthrax attacks happened AFTER 9/11. To this DAY, neither al Qaeda, Bin Laden, nor the anthrax killer has been captured and brought to justice, and in the meantime, 3,000 unidentified illegals were allowed to pour across our southern border every single day that your filthy corrupt little liar of a pretendident was destroying this nation. Sorry, but I fail to see how leaving perpetrators of known attacks to roam the world freely while allowing a massive influx of unidentified illegals to enter the country can be considered to have made us free from attack or threat.

Then again, you're a delusional, wackadoodle wingnut that lives in an alternate universe where up is down, bad is good, debt is cash, and unsafe is safe, so I can understand why you're so confused about this. Idiot.

"3. Do-Not-Call Implementation Act

A bill that was introduced by a democrat, no less.

"4. PROTECT Act of 2003 (Prosecutorial Remedies and Other Tools to end the Exploitation of Children Today Act)"

Co-sponsored by democrats.

"5. United States Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Act of 2003"

Co-sponsored by dems (seeing a pattern here at all yet)

"6. Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003"

One of the disastrous, ill-thought tax welfare handouts to millionaires that did nothing but increase our republiCON national debt. Hardly a benefit to the masses.

"7. Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003"

Handing logging corporations large swaths of formerly protected forests is hardly beneficial to the masses, clown.

"8. Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003"

You're not REALLY touting this piece of shit legislation as a benefit to the masses, are you? Not even your filthy fellow republiSCUM liked this shitty bill when it was illegally rammed through congress.

"9. Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM)"

Co-sponsored by dems.

"10. Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act"

Co-sponsored by dems.

"11. No Child Left Behind Act"

Another colossally failed republiSCUM legislative disaster that has done nothing but destroy public education. Nice work.

I rest my case. Not a single piece of meaningful legislation that benefitted the masses came from republiSCUM politicians. Just exactly as I'd stated. Thanks for playing, clown. It's always fun to make you look like the delusional fool you are.

"Now, we get to hate Obama. Within a year, he will be as hated as Bush is today. "

Nothing pleases those damn haters. They will always find something to hate. It's pathetic that someone would even think this, never mind predict it on a comment. I keep waiting for the people of this country to mature, just a little bit. You would think that at the very least having a leader with intelligence, maturity and compassion would make a little teansy difference to them.

But, here they are..still with their fuckin fairy dust crap. And their 'boo-hoo' - things aren't exactly black and white now like Bush always said they were..like my minister said they were. Now I actually have to believe that things are complex, that problems this big don't get solved in a day, or a month, or even a couple of years. Boo-hoo for me - now they actually expect me to think like an adult.

Sorry, Clark. I'm just so sick of the immature bullshit.

Yes indeed. W. was nearly qualified to be assisstant manager of a Burger King. What amazes me is the absolute refusal on the part of his boot-licking brigade to admit their own defeat. They will NOT see the cowardice in their continued support for an abject failure. If they had a shred of integrity they'd be too embarrassed to make such fools of themselves time after time after time...

Just about any bill that actually passes is going to have partisan support. You should have said you were looking for a 100% Republican authored and passed bill. I doubt you will find one on either side. The point is, plenty of good legislation happened under Bush. Clearly, you lose.

I absolutely don't hate Obama. I actually like him -- I just disagree with the direction he wants to take us. Aside from that, he's brilliant and hard working -- I respect that. Hillary too... same deal.

The internet, being fairly new, is a mass communication tool and Bush was the first President to see the effects. To be sure, liberals whined loudly these past eight years and it's to be seen what conservatives do with Obama in power, but I just have a feeling that we're a little bit more classy -- it's always been that way. Libs are never happy and they always make a big stink about everything.

Well, can your mind grasp the fact that 50 million people were liberated in that process? Or does that not count?

"Most" compared to what? (AIDS)
Most compared to any President in our history. Bush is a compassionate, decent man. That's the way he will be remembered too. Then you have guys like Clinton who were more concerned with getting their rocks off in the Oval office. It's a simple matter of class.... and libs lack it.

Clark,

Is there any way, as Clark, that you could ever disagree with someone without the name calling? Try it. See if you're able. I've liked you much better these past few months performing under your alter's name.

Please explain to me how any bill could be sponsored and passed by any one party. The House and Senate are made up of Democrats and Republicans who must vote on legislation.

Your post: Clark Kent, Jan 21, 2009, 5:54pm EST is so fraught with errors, it's time consuming to enumerate each one...but...for a few samplings:

Can't forget when Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998 by the House of Representatives on articles charging perjury (specifically, lying to a federal grand jury) by a 228–206 vote, and obstruction of justice by a 221–212 vote. According to you, every war-time president should have been impeached...nearly all the way back to George Washington?

Can't forget the Edwards affair? Neither can his wife who had/has cancer while he fathered another woman's child.

Senator Allen, A Republican, Virginia , sponsored the Internet Tax Act.

The Bush tax cuts did stimulate the economy and brought us out of the recession that hit during the end of Clinton's term. Under Obama we will see some ugly deficit, unemployment, and, interest rate numbers, and more expensive energy, but you will most likely find a way to attempt to blame Bush.

There have been NO attacks on American soil by terrorists since 911 ~ thanks to George Bush. The Anthrax attacks were committed by: Bruce Edwards Ivins, a scientist who worked at the government's biodefense labs at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland

The Protect Act of 2003
Sponsored by Orrin Hatch, a Republican, from Utah

It seems some of those you labeled as "Co-sponsored by Democrats," were SPONSORED by Republicans.

No big thing, tho, just a matter of being factual.

Sheryl,
Don't think I've seen you on a comment thread before, so if this comment of yours was for me......where you said,
"Boo-hoo for me - now they actually expect me to think like an adult. " Sheryl O., Jan 21, 2009, 6:06pm EST

If your comments here are your typical ones....then I must respond to your comment that, "No, "I" would NEVER actually expect you to think like an adult."

Timothy,

Regan records a higher unemployment rating than Bush, if you consider Reagan recent history.

If that wasn't a terrorist attack on American soil since 9-11, then I must be the King of Thailand.

" Regan records a higher unemployment rating than Bush, if you consider Reagan recent history. "

I dunno...3.1 million manufacturing jobs lost since 2001. Over 2 million jobs lost last year in almost every sector. Not looking good for Bu$h II. If you are attempting to boost his legacy, you are doing a very poor job.

I'm 48 and during my adulthood, I have lived through the Carter, Reagan, Bu$h I, Clinton and Bu$h II administrations. During the Carter, Reagan, Bu$h I and Clinton administrations, I could quit one job and find a new one easily. Under Bu$h II, not so easy. No way that I would quit my job because it was unlikely that I would find another job. That's the difference.

Timothy,

I am making no attempt to minimize the disastrous unemployment rate in this country at the present time. Your statement that Bush did the best job of putting more people in unemployment lines in recent history is patently false. It is bad now, it was worse during Reagan years. Reagan holds the record for that....unless you don't consider Reagan recent history. That is simply fact, and I make no "JOB" of "boosting the Bush legacy." You, by the same token are woefully unqualified to rate whether my performance was/is excellent or poor, even if you wish to label it as my job.

You very well may have to change your identity to "King of Thailand," because it is questionable and highly unlikely whether or not Anthrax could be used as a terrorist weapon because Anthrax cannot be weaponized by terrorists. Further, it could probably never be used successfully as a military weapon. It has to be converted to spores suspended in the air, which is technically very difficult; and the lethality is nowhere near the terror that it is made out to be. It is not 100% lethal as often claimed.
Ivins was a PhD and a senior biodefense researcher. He was never referred to as a terrorist, nor was his act referred to as terrorism by Washington or the FBI. You may have another definition for each of the cases cited above, if so, feel free to use them. I choose not to.

"Please explain to me how any bill could be sponsored and passed by any one party."

The challenge was for one of you dumbass, delusional, mentally defective wingnuts to name one piece of legislation that was introduced and signed into law by republiSCUMs, has benefitted the masses.

How telling that none of you delusional freaks are able to provide examples, no?

"Can't forget when Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998 by the House of Representatives on articles charging perjury"

Funny, but even the republiSCUMs in the senate couldn't follow through with this bullshit charge, could they? He wasn't in a court of law, he was giving a taped deposition, and his denial was nothing more than a "not guilty" plea, freak. When was the last time you saw a judge convict a person of purjury for pleading not guilty when he was later convicted on charges?

Btw, those filthy republiSCUM politicians, many of whom were, at the time, having extramarital affairs, had NO authority to even ASK THE QUESTION. The special prosecutor was brought in to investigate WHITEWATER, after a prior special prosecutor had FOUND NO WRONGDOING on the part of the Clinton's. When the SECOND special prosecutor was unable to find any wrongdoing, he was ordered by the filthy republiSCUM to go for a shitheap dig, and find ANYTHING.

These filthy sons of bitches...these worthless, greedy, lying, cheating, filthy sons of bitches, would stop at NOTHING, regardless of the cost to the nation, to tear down a sitting president. Don't EVER forget that.

"Can't forget the Edwards affair? Neither can his wife who had/has cancer while he fathered another woman's child."

Let's see your proof, genius. Can't wait.

"Senator Allen, A Republican, Virginia , sponsored the Internet Tax Act."

Dumbass. It was co-sponsored by dems. Pay attention, you f'ing moron.

"There have been NO attacks on American soil by terrorists since 911 ~ thanks to George Bush. The Anthrax attacks were committed by: Bruce Edwards Ivins, a scientist who worked at the government's biodefense labs at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland"

You're an idiot. The anthrax attacks were terroristic acts commited on American soil after 9/11. And, we're nowhere NEAR convinced of the bullshit evidence that was brought forth against the poor son of a bitch that got smeared with this crime. You really don't pay very close attention to much of anything, do you? Typical wingnut.

"Your statement that Bush did the best job of putting more people in unemployment lines in recent history is patently false.

You're a fool. You probably don't even realize that the government doesn't count the unemployed in the same manner, are you? Nor that the manner used today greatly minimizes the actual number, naturally. You're just as painfully ignorant as every other wingnut.

"Ivins was a PhD and a senior biodefense researcher. He was never referred to as a terrorist, nor was his act referred to as terrorism by Washington or the FBI. "

What a stupid set of comments you've made. Go to the state department website and look up the meaning of the word "terrorism." No, on second thought, skip it. It's pointless to try to educate an idiot.

"Let us hope his "Saviour" Barack Obama, makes all the right decisions. "

He's not my saviour, but I totally agree with the latter part of this sentence. We'd all best hope that he makes all the right decisions, or we could very well be screwed.

I have an alter? Interesting. I wonder when I've found time to engage in such stupidity, and I wonder what the point of something like that would be? Just FYI, this isn't the first time one of you delusional wingnut freaks has accused me of this. I get a kick out of it. You can't battle me head to head, so you have to create some mythical image of me. Can I assume that you've found yourself to be "successful" in discussions with said alter? Interesting, isn't it?

Clark...err,

Are you using rudeness and bad language to cover up a discomfort with being emotionall y ill ? Or do you just find that bringing every rotten, nasty word in the English language covers up your ignorance on the subject you are trying to discuss? Language like that is not expected to carry anything of substance, only a big display of every foul word known. If you use enough profanity, you have taken the readers attention away from anything else you said; therefore, you only have to spit poison and that is the sum total of all the depravity you transmit. You never have to be responsible or support any of the other trash. There is not one thing valid or factual or truthful in all your spewing. You make sure you don't have to research any of the junk you put out, or have one iota of truth or fact in anything you write. That is the methodology of uninformed wanna-be's like yourself, who just spout inanities and use the shock effect. Any points you might have hoped to make are lost somewhere down in the realm of useless inuendo, and recognized as such by readers. Your type of writing debris is long defeated and worn out and most people have risen above it. It is recognized by most as the kind of stuff that is better suited for a grazing pasture.

These seem to be deliberate acts with deliberate goals to smother civil, intelligent conversation on the internet where there is no penalty for obnoxious behavior, or incivility. Yours is the backward, inferior type who would never have the nerve or guts for this in a face to face. You have to hide under the guise of an alter too insecure for any
other method of discussion.

Poor, pathetic Clark, return to your alter now, he's much more palatable.

You're a disease that has to be eradicated from this society. Sorry. Facts is facts, sugar pie.

\\"Is there any way, as Clark, that you could ever disagree with someone without the name calling? Try it. See if you're able. I've liked you much better these past few months performing under your alter's name. "

Go screw yourself. I've had to put up with rancid bullshit from you freaks for 8 long, grueling years. Now, I get to shit down your collective throats for a while. Deal with it or go away. You don't have to like it, nor do you have to be a witness to it, but it's not likely to change in the near future. I've got 8 years of payback stored up.

As a fellow sojourner who isn't ready to make nice yet either, I am LOL! Maybe after Gitmo has closed, the troops have come back from Iraq and the economy is back to where it was when Clinton handed it off the Bush, I'll be more tolerant of the truly deranged.

It's all good... Bush goes off to a comfortable retirement, and many of us are thankful for his time in office. I'll just be sure to stay clear from terrorist rich targets because I'm pretty sure Obama will drop the ball.

Just keep my tax cuts in place and I'm good to go. You moonbats can foam at the mouth all you like --- I really don't care.

It seems to be that some of you didn't pay attention in Civics 101. Our government is set up with checks and balances, and the President is head of the Executive Branch...he's not God nor the Messiah. It might feel good to blame all the ills of the world (including your hangnails)on George Bush. but it just doesn't fly. The US is in its present state because of many things...it's not so simple that George Bush can take the blame. (You all sure give him a lot of power.)
If we were to be honest, we would all have to accept our part in the current economic situation. Many have been living on credit for years...running up credit card debt to the point of no end, applying for mortgages knowing it was unaffordable, shopping at Wal-Mart instead of locally owned stores, accepting unacceptable behavior...the list could go on for pages. It's much easier just to blame George.
I'm afraid many of you are going to be severely disappointed in Obama. He's not God and he's not going to be able to "fix" everything. As a capitalist I hope he fails in redistributing the wealth and many of his far left ideas. I do wish him good luck in his term.

//Uh, yeah.... how did that IMPEACHMENT workout? You were so sure he would be impeached. How'd it go? I'd love to hear it out of your mouth.// Just because the guilty parties weren't impeached doesn't mean they won't be tried! And,hopefully, found guilty.

//No attacks on American soil since 911 THANKS TO BUSH.// Bull! I am SO tired of that "we kept you safe" tripe, I could scream. No one, including you, EVER gives Bush credit for ignoring clear warnings that 911 was going to happen. Don't forget, the attack happened on his watch!

//No Child Left Behind Act...// Yet another unfunded mandate that only ended up guaranteeing that our kids would only be trained to be good test-takers.

//I say we fire every single one of them and hire some new faces.// Unfortunately, Don, when you "throw the bastids out", all you get is a new bunch of bastids.

//Just to mention a few of the magics Obama will perform almost over night...// While I agree with your sentiment, Sophie, you and I both know it's not going to happen "over night".

//The Bush tax cuts did stimulate the economy and brought us out of the recession that hit during the end of Clinton's term.// Yet another piece of historical revisionism. There was a projected surplus when Bush took office; the skrillionaires decided it was time they got "their" money back and changed the projected surplus to an actual (record) deficit.

//I'll be more tolerant of the truly deranged when they are in safely locked away in appropriate facilities. // Too bad Ronnie R. closed 'em all and thereby invented the "homeless' problems we have today.

//As a capitalist I hope he fails in redistributing the wealth and many of his far left ideas. I do wish him good luck in his term. // Don't you mean "re-distributing" the wealth? It's been distributed just fine under Bush -- toward the skrillionaires.
Hey, Republibots, don't forget Mr. B's record number of "signing statements" which were designed to gut the bills he was signing (or to rationalize why he wasn't required to follow their provisions).

I, too, am happy to see the former President go back to Crawford. But I agree that the crowd was incredibly disrespectful towards him at the Inauguration. Any servicemember can tell you "you don't salute the man, you salute the office". The Presidency deserves better.

" Your statement that Bush did the best job of putting more people in unemployment lines in recent history is patently false. "

You apparently don't watch the news or do any reading on this issue. Appx 30,000 layoffs announced this week and it isn't over. There will more than likely be more..and they're on Bu$h. Looks like the boy is still at work after he has left office.

"You very well may have to change your identity to "King of Thailand," because it is questionable and highly unlikely whether or not Anthrax could be used as a terrorist weapon because Anthrax cannot be weaponized by terrorists."

You truely are one ignorant bitch. The anthrax attacks caused fear..which is one of the most powerful weapons that terrorists use. Terror...fear...get it dumbass?
