Scary stuff. I heard this fellow yesterday, and was just numb at what he said, but I didn't realize that he was a right winger. I couldn't agree with him more, that this administration simply MUST be impeached and removed from office, as soon as possible.

Think about it.
I know YOU are not surprised. It is inevitable. It's expected, and even with warnings, people will snore on. I'm done.
Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
It looks like it may really happen, doesn't it, Clark? Here's hoping they render all us gather libs on the same plane.
Sounds like one guy, howling at the moon, Clark. Has he possibly gone over to 'the other side'?
This sounds like a police state waiting to happen .... with the "secret police" and "thought nazis" ........... How can this be legal? ....
What happened to freedom of speech and freedom of expression? Are the American people just supposed to clam up and NOT voice their opinions .... whether agreeing or dissenting? ........ I think I'm rambling .... I must be in shock
[[["There's no belief in the people or anything like that. They have agendas. The people are in the way. The Constitution is in the way. ... Americans need to comprehend and look at how ruthless Cheney is. ... A person like that would do anything." ]]]
Indeed, look what they have done already.
I've been M.I.A. for a while, but this sh-t is CARZY!!!
We NEED to get people awake to the fact that this administration is blowing up our democracy for their evil purposes.
The SPINELESS Democratic party has put its tail between its legs and is hiding under a rock... I suggest that EVERYONE regesters as an independent and this coming election, vote an independent in.... that is the only way these two parties will get a shot in the rear and know that the citizens in this country are sick and tired of their power grabs.
Don't ask for impeachment of Bush, it wont happen and it will weaken the congress... just tell everyone who is tired of the B.S. to write their senator & congress person. TRUST me if they all get letters saying that you will vote them out of office, they will start cracking that whip at this unlawful administration.
And I would submit that the Democratic Party is NOT "spineless... with its tail between its legs.." for the most part, they are complicit, with their coffers full, bank accounts thriving, and likely assured that when the next one hits, they'll be warned in advance so that they and their families can head for safe haven.
At this point, I would bet the farm that we are at war with Iran by the end of next month. I think that will probably be predicated on a new "Gulf of Tonkin" type event, in other words either a fabricated attack on our warships stationed off of the caost of Iran, or Iran will be somehow be instigated into actually really firing on one of them. But one things for sure, war with the United States is most certainly not in Iran's interest, and they know that, and they are not stupid. Keep that in mind when the complicit corporate media tells us that Iran started the conflict.
But I will say this, also; there WILL be another "terrorist attack" in the U.S., too, my guess is by the end of the year. After that, there will be no more Constitutional Republic.
The Bill of Rights will be as though it never existed.
So when the news breaks, if you don't want to live in a police state, and you don't want to fight for your freedom, you'd better start planning a move right now.
People can throw around "tin foil" taunts all they want. All I can say is, don't say no one told you so.
What the hell have I been telling you for six months!! You've just GOT to stop thinking it's politics as usual in Washington. THEY KNOW !!!
This fellow may think they're waiting for the Repubs to continue to total self destruction, but he's not taking the very sort of thing into account he warns others of; Not realizing Rove and Cheney can see what's coming. So can the folks in Congress, and their strategists. They have not forgotten about Mr. Rove, and they know full well that the Pres can pull the ripcord anytime, I've SEEN this discussed by senior Dem's on TV!!!
But for obvious reasons, they have thus far couched such talk in terms of needing to rescind some of the President's Authority and require Congressional input before the thing can become "legal". They have merely avoiding saying outright the REASON this ought to be done. But that is kinda obviously what the REASON is that they would speak of such things. It is totally unrealistic to think they could see such a potential danger so clearly, and NOT see the actual danger right in front of their faces.
I will have to get a "private" e-mail to you soon, dealing with something I witnessed about a year ago, which gave me a different way to interpret what the Dem's, and indeed all of Congress may be up against. But for now, please recall the anthrax affair, which left a great many people in the morgue or the hospital. That anthrax was on letters addressed to specific Dem leaders, and if you think they don't speak of such things . . .
That anthrax was traced positively, using genetic markers employed for just this purpose, to a US military facility. The CIA issued a statement that there were troubling indications that this "terrorist attack", originated from somewhere within our own government (duh). These folks have NOT been operating in a "normal" American political environment for years.
Scary stuff.....but this article is exactly right on. I've always thought that the regime has had this up their sleeves from the beginning.
You got that right. Actually, the playing field was tilted against democrats the moment the fairness doctrine was ended, and the right wing media rose up to dominate AM radio. Ever since then, the message has been controlled by the right, and the left has been marginalized. Anything that democratic politicians attempt to do or say is instantly attacked.
So now, when even a staunch republican voice comes forth to seriously point out the extreme threat that this white house poses to this nation, he is attacked and marginalized, and his message is brushed aside.
This administration is definitely up to something no good. If they weren't, they wouldn't be constantly hiding from congressional oversight. They also wouldn't be banging the war drums for Iran when it is Saudi Arabia that has sent nearly 50% of all insurgents into Iraq, and that actively funds those insurgents.
Why Iran? Anyone who has read the agenda of the PNAC knows, of course. Iran and Syria were both chosen to be part of Pax Americana, the American empire that the neocons set out to create. But first, of course, we had to invade and occupy Iraq, whose military had already been decimated during the Gulf War. Taking Iraq would be a "cakewalk," remember? From there, permanent military bases (14 are in various stages of construction) would be built, from which invasions and occupations of neighboring middle eastern nations would be launched.
These neocons have been studying and formulating this for decades, so that when they got their chance, they could re-create America and the world in their own twisted vision. Anybody who thinks that they're simply going to slink away to the trash heap of history in 2008 really hasn't been paying attention. They didn't study as long and hard as they did to simply give up and walk away from their obsession when they got to power, simply because the public lost its appetite for permanent warfare and endless debt spending.
They will definitely need another "Pearl Harbor" in order to launch their next phase, but I have absolutely no doubt that they will launch their next phase. Everything in place right this moment, to turn America into a fascist dictatorship literally overnight. Let's not forget that democratic ideals do not serve the agenda of the masters. An enlightened populace would never tolerate what's happened over the course of the past several decades, let alone what's happened in the past 6 years. An enlightened populace would never have stood for a corrupt and partisan supreme court violating the constitution in order to place an unpopular person into the white house.
Shutting down the flow of factual information is something that will be absolutely necessary in order for them to further carry out their wicked agenda, because an enlightened populace simply will not tolerate their agenda, once it's widely known.
What to do? I think, at this point, it's important to spread this information as far and as wide as we can. We have to somehow shine a light on these cockroaches, so that we can all see what they are. Beyond that, as in after martial law is declared and our democracy is murdered, I honestly don't know. I strongly suspect that the paramilitary groups scattered around the country will take arms, and I also strongly suspect that there will be millions who'll rise in protest, many of whom will be disappeared into hidden detention camps (Halliburton built several of these, beginning shortly after 9/11).
We are literally on the cusp of seeing these things, imo. We have to find some way to get congress to FORCE oversight and control of this white house, before it's too late. If they will not comply with requests for information, congress HAS to shut down the government, if need be, until they get what they have to have in order to perform their constitutional obligation of oversight.
I also believe that congress has to begin holding officials that refuse to testify before them in "inherent contempt," which is an obscure rule that John Dean brought to light on Countdown last week. In the normal contempt of congress law, the attorney general has to assign a US attorney to investigate and bring the case to court. Since the entire DOJ, including the courts, have been perverted into an extension of the Bush crime family at this point, we all know what will happen the moment the congress issues a contempt charge.
On the other hand, if they issue a charge of "inherent contempt," the sergeant at arms is literally dispatched to bring that person to the floors of congress, to FORCE them to either testify or face the consequences of their contempt. In other words, the person either speaks or is locked away for the duration of that session of congress.
Now, this doesn't mean that BushCheneyCorp won't issue an immediate pardon, BUT, at least it would show the public that congress is ATTEMPTING to reign in the king, and that it is the king who is wrong. It's a start.
Frankly, I agree with this dude, and think congress should just go ahead and impeach them both immediately, before it's too late. There's more than ample evidence of criminal behavior that absolutely warrants and demands a full impeachment and removal from office, and it really pisses me off that the democrats have chosen to stave this obvious, NECESSARY process for their own political gain. They are truly being foolish if they actually think that these neocons are going to simply relinquish power in 2009.
The man is only partially correct. Actually, the danger is terrorists. Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney and anyone who subscribes to an objective of power and domination through terrorism are terrorists. The terrorists to which the man refers can incite such fears and panic in an already fear driven society that they would give up anything, as they already have. If you think of the power Mr. Bush already has, give me a break. He will do want he wants with all the civil liberties that he has confiscated from Americans, with their consent, when he is good and ready.
But no, you are a full fledged paranoid personality disorder."
Ok. I'll take that, if that's what it takes to not be a blind, delusional, ignorant moron.

Rich K and his doctor will surely not get any of my business ... unless this administration successfully (to them) continues down their path of forcing us all.
People who think this is conspiracy theory reveal how little they know about government and history. America is no exception to this.
Thank you, Gustavo, I couldn't have said it better.
David Ray Griffin refers to something he calls "the myth of American exceptionalism" when explaining what it is that causes most Americans to dismiss out-of-hand any information or conclusion that contradicts the paradigm that they've been conditioned to accept since they first entered the school system: that their government as a whole is immune to evil and would never do anything that is not in the best interest of the people.
People operate under the a priori assumption that "conspiracy theories" are inherently irrational, and thus immediately close their mind to all possibilities that would suggest anything resembling a "conspiracy theory."
Of course, those in government (or those in the shadow government who direct and manipulate the "legitimate" government) are aware of this, and this is why they knew they could get away with such grand theater-cum-psychological warfare as bringing down the Twin Towers for all the world to see, in real time on TV.
Even though it was done in a method that is easily recognizable to clear-thinking people (especially Building 7), they understood that most people are not thinking clearly; their thinking is vetted and mapped out for them by the media and by their "authorities" in government. The 9/11 Commission was their ace-in-the-hole, so to speak. Made up almost entirely of Council on Foreign Relations members, of course they would do whatever was necessary to conceal the truth!
But of course, most Americans would never even consider recognizing -- let alone delving into -- the absurd contradictions and ridiculous implications contained within the 9/11 Commissions "official story."
It's not a "republican" conspiracy. Such "partisan" notions are a reflection of an obviously indoctrinated mindset, which cannot imagine that these visible political parties are not the ultimate source of power in America any longer. They exist, and have some measure of power, but the folks pulling off this "grand theater" would have used either party that allowed their parasitic presence. Indeed, the "neocons" of today actually began as the "neolibs" decades ago, but were shunned by the then power rich Democrats. It is a marriage of convenience, and one the Republicans regret very much at this point.
As long as we the people take the sides as we tend to do and fight with each other about it all, those that are actually guilty just keep on keeping on with their evil ways ...
That is also what they rely upon, the old divide and conquer thing ... once so divided, we conquer each other, we all lose. Wed need to find some common ground and band together for our common interests ... long term freedom and hope for a better future of cooperation rather than always conflict.
Hillary Edwards Obama or Rudy McRomney; whichever one of the Stepford Candidates we end up with, the plans are already mapped out. Doesn't matter.
Oh, and don't worry -- Al Gore and Newt Gingrich are both long-time CFR members as well. Our undeclared "alternatives" are waiting in the wings to carry out the same marching orders as the ones already in the media soundbite-driven "horserace to the White House" in '08.
I can't speak for sure about Fred Thompson's affiliation or loyalties to the Establishment, but I would bet the farm that he's ready and willing to sell us out to them at the drop of a hat. His known character speaks to it when considering his track record.
I've said it before, and I'll say it all the way to the Primary's: It's Ron Paul in 2008, or its bye-bye US Constitution and national sovereignty. Welcome to the much-anticipated New World Order.
Notice: Continuation of the National Emergency Protecting the Development Fund for Iraq and Certain Other Property in Which Iraq Has An Interest
On May 22, 2003, by Executive Order 13303, I declared a national emergency protecting the Development Fund for Iraq and certain other property in which Iraq has an interest, pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706) (IEEPA). I took this action to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by the obstacles to the orderly reconstruction of Iraq, the restoration and maintenance of peace and security in the country, and the development of political, administrative, and economic institutions in Iraq constituted by the threat of attachment or other judicial process against the Development Fund for Iraq, Iraqi petroleum and petroleum products, and interests therein, and proceeds, obligations, or any financial instruments of any nature whatsoever arising from or related to the sale or marketing thereof.

We still like to think that 'we' select our presidents and that the next one 'we' put into office will represent 'us' ... how naive we are.
Those in the shadows are doing the real determining of just who gets in office, no matter what we think, it is all arranged way ahead of time so that no matter who is the final 'winner' ... only those that are approved by these hidden 'leaders' will be in the final running ... they just have that much power.
We all need to seriously wake up to this fact before we can effectively 'combat' (change) it. If we do not realize just what we are dealing with we cannot be effective.
As for the real and present danger of a coming fascist dictator for this nation, that is a far greater possibility than most would want to admit ... especially those that so support and defend these neoCONs here on Gather ... please wake up, you too will be the loser in the end if this comes to pass.
Getting back to GWB as dictator ... I doubt that 'he' is the type ... but he may well be the 'instrument' to make it possible, in that he does not 'seem' the type for so many, thus he could well be the one that is first ... yet to be suddenly replaced with a REAL one as soon as the 'system', as it was designed by our founding fathers, is destroyed to the degree that we can no longer do anything about it.
This is serious stuff, about as serious as anything could get for all of us ... to stick our heads in the sand and hope for the best will not cut it. The threat is real and pending ... it can do no harm to look at the possibility, it will do irreparable harm to just let it happen ... it may well be already too late as apathetic as so many are.
Just think if Bush were to be knocked off by some alledged terrorists! Hmmm...let's see..Cheney is president, and we have our new dictator. Too many in Congress are in the pockets of the real leaders of our country, and they will never impeach Bush and Cheney like they should have long ago
This goes way back to 1913 when the government broke our Constitution, and instated the Federal Reserve Bank, and Federal taxes, and eventually took us off the gold standard for money. All three of these are unConstitutional! This is not a partisan issue. It is an issue of the ultrawealthy basically controlling everything in our country. In case you aren't aware, the Federal Reserve is a private bank controlled by the ultrawealthy!
Why do you think democrats voted for the war also? Why do you think Clinton is good friends with Bush Senior? Where is the logic behind neither party securing our southern border? Why do so many in both parties support amnesty for illegal immigrants? Why was NAFTA passed, and sent our money and jobs overseas? As much as they seem to hate each other, the two parties are a lot closer than you think. There may be a few in congress who don't answer to big business, but it's a very small and insignificant number.
I still can't understand how so many in Congress get reelected when they aren't doing crap for our country. Sure, the last election saw a big swing, but not as big as I would have expected.
