Wow, it just does not seem like NaNoWriMo is coming up in just four months, does it? Typically, I plan and plot for 6-7 months This year I haven't done that. It's so foreign feeling not working on it and counting down the months.
I had two novels vying for the esteemed NaNo '09 title. The one that won was Joy In Unexpected Places. I adore the fantasy, but it's sleeping and needs far more work than Joy. If needed I could comfortably write Joy right now and not be worried in the least about being ready. I just can't say that about the Fantasy (untitled) Maybe I'll work on it for next year (Gee, I said that same thing a year ago, LOL)
So, have you all given any thought to what you will write this year? Any idea what the title/plot idea/genre is?
For those that are unaware, Joy is a litfic novel. My first in this genre and yes, I'm intimidated. I have, however been told I'm a gripping writer (based on off the top of my head exercises posted for the class) so maybe I'm not doing so bad with it. Time will tell, I suppose.
Some banners I made in PSP7 with Poser 7 Pro Models (made to look like Valerie)

Another banner I made last night. Not sure which I like best though.
My cover (subject to change)

Back cover (most likely will change the wording)

Actually, this year I started on this novel in January since it's for the class Sammie and I are doing online.
Yeah her and I have been NaNo buddies for a while. Doing wars and talking in IM as we type along. It's much more fun with a buddy alongside you.
Do you have those voice recognition software programs? It might help the cramping, but I found with mine (it was bundled on my Vista laptop) it failed to recognize a word I said. So, I decided typing worked better. It was a good idea while it lasted, though. LOL
Sammie, if you are going to throw someone out the window, then I vote for it being Jake!! :-D
Wait, I thought you were gonna try some this year but of course couldn't reach the 50K probably.
Just don't throw me out the window, okay? xD
Besides, I'm the one that controls the polka dotted elephants!
I wish mine had written something. It just made me keep repeating at different volumes what I said and typed..... nothing.
Aww don't throw poor Jake under the bus. He finally married Sammie, now let's be nice to him! :P
I don't have a problem throwing Jake under the bus, especially after he reminded me that now I'm a "Mother-In-Law" - EEWWW!! That makes me sound so OLD!! (Sam don't you dare say that I AM old, 'cause I WILL hurt you - lol!!) Although I guess I should try to be nice to him, since he is the one that is keeping me from being a grandma any time soon. :-P
Sammie should be around the next two days, so maybe we can get Gideon and SweetPea together at some point.
Mother in Law isn't that bad, Grandma does make you sound older, though. And that's right, Sammie probably would have had that happen sooner if it wasn't for Jake putting it off a bit longer, lol.
I'm sorry, but I'm just laughing at seeing you both joke with each other. *snicker*
Gideon and I are almost always here and we are always on messenger. Just have her shoot me an IM and we'll get them together on cam. :)
Hey, and everyone seems to have a consensus that Jake and I will have beautiful children and it's just not right to deny the world that beauty as soon as possible you know! -pouts-
And we're still NaNo buddies, Jenn. Umm...the only difference is that I write when I get a chance (which is almost never) and I get control of the pink polka dot elephants this year instead of you! I call dibs.
Oh, Sammie you two WILL have beautiful children. I've seen you both, so I can safely say that. ;-) And you are right about denying the world of that beauty, but well, sometimes it's good to wait until out of school at least. *wry grin* Either that or change Jake's mind. I hear you've been close a few times. LOL
I write almost never too... well, non-nano months that is.
Noooooo! You can't control them. *sobs uncontrollably short circuiting my keyboard*
Your Friend,
Rene
I can't wait for it either. I've been so into this story that I'm both excited and worried to write it. Afraid I won't capture the reader and the emotions the way I want and need to do.
We really did have a lot of fun. I was sprinting to keep up with you and Tracy and failing miserably LOL!
Haha NaNo Queen. I kinda like it. Can my crown be a book with the muse (my fairy) sitting on top? Please? :D
It does sound like a lot of fun, though.
This year I'll be trying it again. BUT...I'll be VERY pregnant, and my due date is actually November 20th so I'll probably not have a finished novel again. -grin-
Good luck doing it before and after the little one's arrival and most of all CONGRATS! :)
I'm a bit nervous over the research aspect. I still need a lot of that done, but otherwise the novel is not doing too bad. I have a good portion of the plot worked out (but there's still some to fill in)
Luckily there's still four months left to work on all of that!
