![]() | The month of April has come and gone while NBJC continued to work feverishly around the clock to ensure that you have the ability to live openly and honestly in all aspects of faith, community and employment. Currently, there are two very important pieces of legislation on Capitol Hill that NBJC has thrown its full support behind. In fact we are lobbying our Congressional Black Caucus members for their crucial support as well. Click here to read my letter to Congress. Now we need YOUR support. Please take a moment to make a call, send an email, fax or letter to express your full support for the passage of the following congressional bills: |
Help NBJC pass the
Local Law Enforcement
Hate Crime Prevention Act!!!
Did you know that there is absolutely no federal assistance given to local law enforcement in order to prosecute bias-motivated crimes against women, gays, transgenders and people with disabilities?

Although many state legislatures have passed into law anti-hate crime bills which provide similar protections, many state and local agencies still lack the necessary tools and badly needed resources to investigate and to prosecute these crimes.
With the passage of LLEHCPA (Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act) federal resources could be used to do just that. The vote is scheduled for this Thursday!! Click here and type in your zip code to contact your congress person and show your support!!
Help NBJC pass the
Employee Non-discrimination Act!!!
Imagine a world where one day you go to work and you're fired because your boss doesn't like the fact that you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.

Imagine a world where it is perfectly legal to deny you employment or advancement opportunities because of the fact that you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered.
Well imagine no more because that day already exists for millions of Americans. Did you know that it's completely legal for your company to fire you for being gay, lesbian or bisexual in 33 states? And in 42 states, you can be fired for being transgender.
That is why YOUR support of ENDA (Employee Non-discrimination Act) a bill that is currently making its way through the US House of Representative is crucial.
All we need is for you and your circle of supporters to call, write, fax or email your US Congressperson to voice your support of this bill. Click here and type in your zip code to contact your congress person and show your support!!
