A Tale of Two Appointees: One Does Us Proud, One Does Not
A tale of two appointees: A political appointee in the news on this date (2007) wants to turn a medical paper into a doc praising the Bush administration. Surgeon General Carmona stands-up and says no.
Also, in 2008 Bush reappoints a Mine Safety head with a sad safety record, over Senate objections. Miners, and mine safety be damned, apparently.
And it's a good date for Bushisms (2001 and 2008).
