On This Date 11/21-Hey Big Spender!
"Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing." Benjamin Franklin’s Thirteen Virtues
2003: Conservative columnist and blogger Andrew Sullivan writes about President Bush's energy bill today in "The Weekly Dish" column of the Washington Times. Says Sullivan: "How any principled, small government, free-market Republican could vote for this vast waste of public money is beyond me. Mr. Bush should veto this bill, until it is de-porked. He won't, of course. He has yet to veto a single big spending bill. Which is partly why, under his watch, the government has grown so quickly and the debt has mushroomed". As Sullivan predicted, President Bush signed a pork-filled version of the energy bill into law, on August 8th 2005.

Well it turns out, the GOP isn't anything like they said they were (under this Bush administration). It turns out their true colors are "spend-and-run-up-the-deficit" while growing the government party. Not to mention they seem to be the party in favor of the federal government intruding into as many facets of citizens' private lives as possible.
Well, just over a year left of this deceit and sarcastic adminitration.
Those of us in the Conservative camp support Mr. Bush when he does Conservative things. We do not support him when he does non-Conservative things..............for example, this past Summer his Immigration Bill was VERY Liberal. Mr. Bush lost the support of Conservatives on that one, and so he went down to defeat. We like that.
