You didn't read the article did you? You posted too fast to have done that I think. The title was from the original article in an online magazine, it was not an attack.

If by chance you did read it then please post a response of substance, relating, this is not an attack fest, were discussing history of what has happened related to the differing policies.

Let's be friendly and use logic, in order to discuss real issues. I am willing to hear your thoughts IF you have read the article.

I don't get why you posted it agian. It says the same as it did when ben posted it. I made comments to Ben's post. I don't want to make them agian. It seems to me this article is lacking originality.

I asked Ben if I could get it posted to some other groups and he told me to go ahead, instead of him just reposting it so I did. If I duplicated groups I didn't mean to. If I did please let me know and I will change how it is posted.

I was just trying to get the issue to some people I felt would like to read it pro and or con.

Seen the article elsewhere, still good though it gives Bush too much credit in the end. It has alot of valid points and I wish Jennifer had pointed the problems as I saw no real glaring ones in the body of the text. The A bomb does make make for a glaring exception to the last half century Dem policy of disliking weapon procurements tho....

I served throughout the periods mentioned (79-01) and I can remember those scary days quite clearly. Then of course we were dealing with somewhat rational nations interested in at least personal survival not religious fanatics bent on death for all not fellow travellers....

Look at Clinton...he gave China everything they asked for & more.....!

As for the war on terrorism, even conservatives have cited the beginning as when Regan abandoned Lebanon after the bombing of the Marine barracks.
As far as I know nothing was "done" about that.

I could go on, but nothing will convince Donald H, or Emmett that Democrats are not devils and Republicans are not Angels.

What I now see as the Republican party is a party that must have a very strong, very invasive, very centralized and controlling government.

Kind of hard to say we have a strong military, while we are losing two wars to very low tech enemies.

We do have an extremely costly military, and some extremely wealthy executives of military suppliers, they certainly are powerful.

Never mind that they are losing two wars at the same time, at a very high cost to all citizens of this nation.

Yup strong military, smart as well.

This administration is the most corrupt, the most nondemocratic, and the most dangerous in the history of our country. A one sided look at trying to motivate the base. However the Conservative base in this country sees that this administration is not a conservative government. It is a conservatives nightmare. Sky high debt, cutting taxes that mostly benifit the top 5 % earners. Spending 2 billion a week on a war that the War Dept. trys to win on the cheap. Borrowing that money and more from a Communist Country. If this was a Democratic administration the Republicans would be screaming bloody murder. More spin from Rove. I would not be surprised if this isn't one more so called journalist being paid by the spin doctor to give the illusion of credible journalism

A large share of articles, books, and what have you, are directly generated by rightwing hawkish think tanks that concentrate on nothing else. There is huge money behind them that pays whatever it tales to endlessly promote their spin to the nation and the world.

Cena, I don't believe democrats are devils… never have, a few members of the party might be, but not all and even not most. By the way I think the same for the republicans, some are devils, and when I have the ability ( those in my voting district) I vote them down, and those I trust, yes no matter what party I vote for.

If what I say is so negative and over blown and I share it "ad-nauseum" why did you ask to be connected to me even just a week or so ago? I find your remark insulting and just plain hurtful. Jennifer, Sen. Diane Feinstein of California, clearly not part of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" investigated over 700 alleged violations of the Patriot Act. The results of her investigation,,, ZERO actual violations. So exactly why is it you are against the act?

As for Reagan selling arms for oil, better check the history on that. It was arms for hostages. And it was to fight communists, which is always a good thing to do.

And yes, the A-Bomb worked great in WWII. Try to remember, the U.S. used the atomic bomb to END the most destructive war in human history, and to bring peace where there was war. It worked great!

Now before you say something like "Oh yea, then what about North Korea or Iran" There is no linear thread from the atomic bomb to today. Many nations were working on it, we got it done first and used it to bring a peace to a war torn world

So you may want to check YOUR facts, and read some history.

Thanks for reposting Emmitt. I didnt see this before and it is a pretty good read. In terms of defense, liberal democrats always have and continue to try and make America weaker. Their votes on the patriot act, terrorist survelance, and interrogation are the most recent but their instinctive reflex to immediately reject ideas like a missile defense system says it all.
