The soul grows restless
As life rushes by
Speak to me of peace
The heart cry's of loss
Of Soldiers Not coming Home
Talk to me of War
I'll rail about George Bush
and staying the course
Sing to me of dreams
I'll cry you a river of tears
For an America all but lost
How many remember Bob Dylan, Pete Seager or even Arlo Guthrie? We need another Alice's restaurant, a voice to cry out from the wilderness calling America back to the path of righteousness, unity and love. This land is your land, this land is my land, and corporate America is taking it away. As I went walking I saw signs from California to the New York Islands, no trespassing, do not enter and keep out...someone please strike up a tune, does someone have a guitar, can you carry a tune.
Everyone clap your hands, it's not that hard, we can take our nation back. Wake up America and we can be great again. Let's forget about Blue States and Red States and once again become the United States that stands proud and tall. Let's stop the out sourcing, lets raise the minimum wage and find medical coverage for all. Stay the course is not working, and no one wants to cut and run, but for God's Sake let's find a workable path to victory that brings our troops home. This land is our land, was made for you and me.
I'm tired of drifting, weeping for an America I no longer know. I want my country back, want to see a people proud to fly the Red, White and Blue. Let's forget about being liberals, conservatives or independents, put aside left and right, toss away labels that divide and keep us apart, and get back to being one people, citizens of the United States of America.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God...how many of our children even know those words, can recite the verse? Suppose we can thank the ACLU for that, or perhaps an apathy born of a me generation where it is self above all. We are Americans, but if we do not stand up in unison and let our voices be heard, we stand to lose that claim as our borders disappear and Canada, Mexico and the good old US of A become one. Wake up American, we are being torn apart and being scattered to the four winds in the name of Corporate bottom lines.

Folk music and folk songs moved and motivated the nation to stop the war in Vietnam. It's starting to happen again.
In the past 2 weeks, I was at two guitar and folk singing parties, in Los Angeles, CA; one at my home and the other at a friend's house! It was fantastic to hear all the 60's great folk songs. Let's sing the one that everyone loved at those parties:
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind!!!
