I am posting this snippet and the link for those who claim we have only spent 35 Billion on homeland security... If you add it up it is allot closed to 150-200 billion on homeland security and it shouldn't be compare to war costs because we have additional expenses in war like fuel for ships and additional vehicles and food to be shipped over etc... Working here in country we don't have those additional expenses, some for fuel etc, but allot less then used to move a navy ship around the world .etc...
If this is dificuult to read or understand the charts. goto this link.

Federal Funding for Homeland Security
The tragic events of September 11, 2001, have brought increased Congressional and public interest in federal spending for homeland security. Funding for those activities is split among 200 different appropriation accounts within the federal budget and involves many different functional areas of the government. Furthermore, most of the funding resides within accounts that primarily finance programs that are not classified as homeland security activities. That accounting arrangement makes it difficult for budget analysts to distinguish and track homeland security spending.
Most of the current data on funding for homeland security are provided in annual reports to the Congress by the Administration's Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Largely on the basis of those reports, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that federal resources dedicated to homeland security activities will total about $41 billion in 2004--roughly double the amount allotted to those activities before September 11.(1) For 2005, the Administration has proposed increasing homeland security funding to $47 billion, or about 14 percent above the current level (see Table 1).

I am sorry about the html, I was having problems with the editor. As for copy and paste people need to get over it, this information is from the Congressional Budget Office, I posted it for the people who needed the information, I wrote a note at the top. I then pasted 2 paragraphs and then the link. For me to rewrite the info (9 pages) would be silly, beyond silly. No copy writes violation, this info is owned by all Americans as our taxes paid for it.
It should be readable now. Have a good evening.

Thanks for posting this info, Emmett.
