What is this?

    I saw this shed on my walk Sunday. It's on the farm next door. It has no doors except for the one above this broken ladder.  The nearest house or barn is a mile away. I can't imagine what it's for

 Anyone out there have a clue? I don't trust that ladder or I'd check it out. Plus, who knows what lurks within? I will wait until someone younger and braver dares to check it out for me.

I think it's kind of neat...younguns would love it as a clubhouse of sorts. Just think too, if you lived there, not too many folks would be walkin' in your door!

I think that it is most likely a child's clubhouse, or maybe it was a moon shine cellar or something of that sort? I've never seen one without a door on the bottom, unless it's on the other side?

i'm thinking some kind of grain storage. but i would think you'd still need some kind of opening near the ground!!

i've seen lots of grain storage and they always open at the bottom. how could you scoop it out from the top once it gets low? it's really stumped me. i thought spring house, but they always have doors on the bottom to haul the water out with.

For corn our grain it would have to have some sort of opening on the ground floor. It probably has one, you just cant see it. Maybe its an outhouse for someone who hates to dig holes. May take a life time to fill up!

I was thiking possibly a tobacco drying shed where they hang tobacco leaves..or maybe was at one time. Is that grown in your area? I think they normally have large doors however, and the ones I saw in KY before were painted black.

no tobacco grown around here. but maybe it's a drying house for marijuana. :) maybe i'll have to check it out myself. haha. if it's still being used, i'll be shot for sure.

looks like a ice house.. people around in the area use to in the winter time and the lakes froze over. The farmers would go out on the lakes and cut blocks of ice and carry them to a buiding and store them in saw dust and use them during the warmer weather. The Crossroads Villiage in Flint does it every winter and stores then in their ice house.

It was probably used as a shelter of some sort. Maybe for animals. There is a hay loft up top. Like a mini barn of sorts.

It does appear to be a barn of some type not the largest or the smallest I 've seen. Look at the tall access door just above the affixed ladder, there is a odd size, for the size of the barn, door --hummm, quite curious!

When you find out for sure let us know!

I have always been a bit on the daring side. SO I would of probably went home grabbed a flash light and went back to check it out.
And with my luck the roof will cave in while I'm on top and down I will go into the old potty house.
If it was a potty house. With my luck it would be.
