Car Exchange (LOL)

Something funny happened when my husband got out of his class tonight. He was in the parking lot, walking towards his car. He put the car key in, but the door didn't open. Instead, the anti-theft light was blinking.

After a closer look, he realized it was not his car. It was just another car that looked exactly the same. He quickly walked away and continued walking towards his car (this time for real).

When he got closer, he saw a guy standing next to his car, trying to open the car door with a remote. Instead, the car my husband had just tried to get in started flashing and unlocked. That guy quickly left my husband's car and walked towards that other car.

So, both of them mistakenly went to the other person's car, and had a "car exchange" in the parking lot.

That's amazing! I think that's almost happened to us before. I'm just glad that you can always recognize the sound of Dad's Lumina when it's zooming around. Maybe we could use some kind of invention that identifies your car in a parking lot, like a lighted globe that fits on the antenna that you activate? Perhaps they'll bring back the 'American Inventor' show and they'll have something like that. Thanks for posting this astounding coincidence!

Very funny! When I had my old car I used to go up to other cars all the time -- seems like there were a million cars out there that looked just like it and parking lots were a source of endless confusion as a result. I finally put a ribbon thingie on the antenna so I could find it more easily and not feel silly walking up to cars that weren't mine :-)
