Do You View Shows On CBS?

We have digital cable with HBO. I was just telling Matt what a waste of money it is! I never watch anything but some CNN. But he likes watching tv...

And I think cable is more expensive than satellite, but I understand that satellite isn't as reliable. I could be wrong about that.

I love my satellite. I've got DirecTV. Cable is about $40 for 20-25 channels here! I get over 185 channels for $55. That is a BIG difference. I get all the networks for free with DirecTV, which is great because I love CBS. It has all my soaps and CSI, Criminal Minds, Jericho, etc.

We really dont view much TV. We only keep the satellite so we can watch BYUTV. If it were not for that, we would not subscribe to anything.

Oh, Matt LOVES Jericho! He even watches repeats on demand.

Our basic cable is over $50. We've been thinking about Direct TV or Dish. It's interesting to hear what you all think about the different services.

My cost is $65.00 a month and that is with one extra room and all channels (inc. local) but no premiums like HBO, etc.

We get our networks free with the satelite, too. I wish we could pick and choose what we paid for. We have a medium package because there's 2 we wanted that weren't available in the smaller package. It's ridiculous to pay for it but since we have no life other than TV I guess that's our entertainment, drinking, partying, having fun, gas, traveling money. lol

Connie, you are a jewel!!! I don't subscribe to anything, we just get the local channels: CBS, ABC, and NBC. I too love every show you mentioned and was just telling hubby that it wasn't fair; since we only have one TV and it being football season, guess who gets to watch what he wants? Yup! And I thought, man, it would be nice if I could watch CSI on the internet somehow. Not 5 minutes later, I read this article. CSI, here I come!!!!!

Connie, we don't have cable at my house. We only get a few channels in...sometimes you have to sit the right way to get in a couple of them...lol. I watch some of the shows on my computer also, as does Angela. She likes a few shows that come on after she is already in bed.

We only had cable for three months and it was totally free for that time. We had it disconnected after the three months was up. So I have no idea what it costs but I have heard that it is expensive.

I watch CBS and NBC the most...followed by Fox, UPN then ABC. I have a small cable package...$8.85 and I get 24 channels. I can only watch one at a time anyway...I don't need more.

I have cable and I don't really know how much more it costs. I have the all in one package. Its about $80 a month but thats for phone, cable and internet. I don't watch too many shows on CBS but I do like CSI.

I rarely watch TV, but do have the local cable. The major networks have little of interest for me. It is expanded basic, no HBO or Showtime, but I rent or buy movies I like. I have the cable for the internet, and gaming. I am just an old, big kid.

By the way, if you lived in Las Vegas, you would probably not like CSI. It is filmed in California. All you get is airial shots of Vegas. Too phony in that reguard for me. I am a purist, having lived for so many years in Sin City.

I watch all my shows online...NBC, CBS, ABC, and MTV all have the shows I watch online. YAY! :o)

I have expanded basic and they keep raising the prices and yet offering no more stations, waste of money really but I love lifetime and espn and a few oher things but mostly a lot of rerun movies and no much new.

We get basic Cable , which I would cancel but Hubby likes it for the sports .

I have Satellite get Dish. My daughter and I have seperate lines into our trailers and I pay a lot for the big package because my daughter likes Free Speech TV, HBO, Showtime, Flix, Sundance and Encore. I seldom watch anything on NBC, CBS, and ABC except the weather reprot, and I never watch FOX. There used to be network shows l liked, but they were cancelled two years ago. I watch the John Steward, Steven Colbert, the History channels and Hallmark and movies. If it wasn't for my daughter's choice, I go back to a basic package.

We have a package deal with cable. $100.00 a month provides internet service, phone line and phone service and television. We don't get HBO, Cinemax, Encore, Movie Channel, but we get mostly what we want. I wish we did get Biography, but not. Still the History Channel and CNN, MSNBC, FOX plus sports stations and in all close to 100 channels. The internet service is excellent as is the television and phone service. We have no complaints.

I did find out that CBS.com doesn't show Without a Trace, another of my favorites! Hmmm, oh well. And at least I can watch what I want when I want and not just when it is on at the same time on TV!

I know I'll be watching more TV on line this year since so many of my shows come on at the same time and then there are all those football games. I have digital cable and it is very expensive, especially when you add in Internet.

I think we pay like $5 extra dollars a month to have all our local stations as part of our satellite package. It was worth it to us because they all came in so much better than with our antennae and we no longer had to switch back and forth between the satellite box and the antennae to watch different shows. If I had a laptop it would be handy to watch t.v. on the internet but sitting at the desk would be uncomfortable. Plus I can only imagine Ron, myself, and the two kids hovering around the desk to watch CSI!!! LOLOL When 'The Tudors' first came out and before I subscribed us to Showtime so I could watch it, the first two episodes were online to watch in their entirety. I watched those and was hooked!!

Because we live in the shadow of a mountain, we would have no tv reception if we didn't have cable or sattelite. We had Comcast Cable with ok service and a basic package which included the networks for years. But Comcast was bought out by Time-Warner in our neighborhood and the service was horrendous. Just the switch alone, was bad. My son gave us three months Dishnetwork - with just about everything, which we have kept, and when the price of large flatscreens tv's dropped after the Superbowl we immediately went out and got one to go with the Dish. We don't watch a lot of tv, but we enjoy movies on the weekends when a bachelor friend of ours joins us, and by our selves, too. Of course we enjoy a few programs on the networks, as well as the plethora of other channels such as Discovery, & History. Other than our backcountry trips and going out to eat once or twice a week this is our only form of entertainment - so it's well worthwhile for us particularly during the long stretches in the winter when we're home. And the quality of our reception is 100% better than it has ever been in all 25 years we've lived in our house. It's not just that big tv, either, it's the difference in having satelite over cable. Our computer is still Time-Warner with lousy service, so I wouldn't want to depend on it for tv.

We have had Direct TV for over 5 years now and I have no complaints, I prefer it over cable any day. We pay about $70.00 a month but we have so many stations to choose from, plus all kinds of music stations,, I like Sci-Fi, and Chiller, we have 3 tvs, and a DVR, this is one of the best inventions, you can record, without any disc, you can set up the recorder way in advance as soon as you know that something is coming on, push record, it is so easy and convenient to have, so we can watch our movies , when we have the time. I love Direct TV , for its easy billing, I can actually understand their bills, unlike cable. If your Direct TV is ever disconnected because you didnt pay your bill, just call them , make the payment, the tv service is restored before you get off of the phone. I have had people tell me that their cable was disconnected, even after paying the bill, it took as much as two weeks to get their cable back on. The only drawback of satellites are if it rains bad, the satellite does loose its signal, as soon as the storm passes the tv station comes right back on. I was watching cable one night, a mini series, 6 nights, I watched faithfully, 15 mins before the ending, my cable went out. I was so mad, so there you have it, Cable vs. Satellite. I choose satellite.

We have cable and pay an outrageous price for it. I wish we could get satellite.

I used to have Direct TV, and it cost about forty dollars a month. I had hundreds of channels, of which I watched about five on a regular basis!
About two months after I started college, I had it turned off. No time to watch, and no money to pay for it!!
I watch TV sometimes on the weekends when I'm at my kid's houses. I love CSI, Law and Order, the 4400, and some of the Discovery channel programs.
Can't wait to finish school and be able to live like a "normal" person again!! LOL

I would like to have Discovery and the History Channel...and of coarse Sci-fi...but we've lived w/o cable for 9 yrs now...

I have had bad experiences with Dishes, so we have cable. I don't know what our bill is, but I know that it isn't too bad and it includes internet. I do know that we get all of the premium stations for free:)

I have digital cable, but no "extra" channels. My cable company is Cox Communications.
It ends up being cheaper to get a basic digital package w/internet combined than if I paid for internet & then got analog basic cable...go figure...lol
I do get bravo,encore,several discovery channels,history ect...
Sometimes I wonder if a dish would be cheaper?
Or if buying something to hook up to my pc (slingbox or whatever) would be better.
If I lived somewhere else, I know I would not want a dish...
if it rains, storms often I've seen others have problems. :-)

I really enjoy NCIS, I'm unhappy about Bones being moved to the same time as NCIS because I enjoy both shows. I may have to watch NCIS online sometimes.

We cut our cable over a year ago. We only get 2 channels now, and rarely watch them! The reasons are simple: a 2 year old and a 7 month old. I watch my shows online now - it's the only way I can watch them! By the time CSI rolls around at 9pm, I'm whipped, and usually fall asleep in front of the TV! The only show I love that I can't get online is ER. But we were paying a whopping $50 a MONTH for cable - for what? For that outrageous price, I can BUY the season on DVD! Ironically, that's exactly what I do now - we have a $50 a month budget for buying DVDs! Quite honestly, we usually just buy appropriate DVDs for our toddler and if I'm really feeling out of touch, I'll rent the season from Blockbuster! Thomas the Tank Engine anyone? :-D

I don't watch much tv, actually. Rhos and I spend a lot of time just hanging out, watching movies. There never seems to be anything on we like to watch. But the most common channels for us are The Discovery Channel, A&E, ABCFamily, and Spike.

I like to watch On-Demand.

I have cable. I could not live without the on demand programs for my son.
