Fur_an imaginary portrait of Diane Arbus starring Nicole Kidman, good story but too much nudity.
Zodiac - about the zodiac killer in the late 60's through the 70's
The movie Something the Lord hath made is the only movie I have really seen that I like that hasn't been out and really popular. If you haven't seen it is it very good. It isn't new, but not everyone has heard of it. I reviewed it a while ago, that is what that link is at the top. I think Netflix is where I got it. I usually go through their old movie collections too, which is where I ran across this one.
Go to Columbia House and do not (REPEAT DO NOT) sign up, but do look at some of their recommendations for classic movies.
You can also check out imdb.com for listings by actor or director to find movies you never heard of, some of which are good, and some suck. We watched Gattica this week, which turned out to be very well done. Netflix ROCKS.
If you like foreign... I just saw Through A Glass Darkly. It might be a new favorite.
If you like Docs... Taxi to the Darkside is a very compelling look at the actrocities at Abu Ghraib. Its dark and tragic, so be ready.
For indie hits... check out Juno or Into the Wild if you haven't. Both are great and both have very interesting soundtracks.
