Remember, be VERY careful what you ask for. My fear is your wish will come true.
Kiss Your Freedoms Goodbye If Health Care Passes
Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn’t care about the Constitution, it doesn’t care about your inalienable rights. If this health care bill becomes law, America, life as you have known it, freedom as you have exercised it and privacy as you have enjoyed it will cease to be.
Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a 2,000-page bill to give the federal government the power to micromanage the health care of every single American. The bill will no doubt pass. It will raise your taxes, steal your freedom, invade your privacy, and ration your health care. Even the Republicans have introduced their version of Obamacare Lite. It, too, if passed, will compel employers to provide coverage, bribe the states to change their court rules, and tell insurance companies whom to insure.
We do not have two political parties in this country, America. We have one party; called the Big Government Party. The Republican wing likes deficits, war, and assaults on civil liberties. The Democratic wing likes wealth transfer, taxes, and assaults on commercial liberties.
Both parties like power; and neither is interested in your freedoms. Think about it. Government is the negation of freedom. Freedom is your power and ability to follow your own free will and your own conscience. The government wants you to follow the will of some faceless bureaucrat.

People ask, "if nationalized care in other countries is so bad, why do they still have it?" Because once a government has power, it doesn't like to give it up - ever.
And Medicare? Yes, people do have to pay more and more. My cousin pays 1/3 of what he gets each month for Social Security for coverage that Medicare does not provide.
The government does not bill, they tax, the taxes are not more if you go for medical care, you just walk out the door. The same with Medicare, they pay for what they pay for only.
What the private insurance is for is the things that are not covered. There is no overlap.
Think good thoughts.
When I recently asked Congressman James Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat in the House, to tell me "Where in the Constitution the federal government is authorized to regulate everyone's healthcare--, he replied that most of what Congress does is not authorized by the Constitution, but they do it anyway. There you have it. Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn't care about the Constitution, it doesn't care about your inalienable rights, it doesn't care about the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, it doesn't even read the laws it writes.

Hey, at least in jail you get three hots and a cot.
"There's my supper," thought he, "if only I can find some excuse to seize it."
Then he called out to the Lamb, "How dare you muddle the water from which I am drinking?"
"Nay, master, nay," said Lamb; "if the water be muddy up there, I cannot be the cause of it, for it runs down from you to me."
"Well, then," said the Wolf, "why did you call me bad names this time last year?"
"That cannot be," said the Lamb; "I am only six months old."
"I don't care," snarled the Wolf; "if it was not you it was your father;" and with that he rushed upon the poor little Lamb and ate her all up.
But before she died she gasped out ."Any excuse will serve a tyrant."

Real Genius (part 11)
Who do you think 'created' this oh so lovely laser beam...if we think this is not possible, we are living under a rock...
Of course, you get a 10...
The Constitution and laws do nothing to guarantee your freedom. You are only free while those with power don't mind.
Naturally one suspects that there were money motives for at least some of the decision makers, but what those were is still not clear as well.
I remember my mother telling me in the 1940s that the weapons makers tried to get war started both for WWI as well as WWII. That doesn't seem as plausible for Iraq since the money we spend on the military wouldn't need to go up that much for weapons.
One suspects oil but we didn't rush in with our own oil experts and devote lots of resources to getting oil production going strong. So that explanation isn't really satisfying.
Sigh.
I went to your blog to read the summary and found it unmanageable as presented. Is there another way to get to it?
Perfectly normal.
Clifford, the best way to read it is to click on 'full screen' in the upper left hand corner and it is much easier to read.
If anyone knows how to upload it on Gather, I will be glad to do that.
1st amendment - restricted.
2nd amendment - restricted.
Abortion - restricted.
Health care - restricted.
Can you hear us now?
[I think they've turned off their hearing aids over in DC.]

-- they call it "bipartisan" because Joe Cao, a Republican representative in a Democrat-dominated district, voted yes
