Palin had an extra-marital affair?

September 04, 2008 03:17 PM EDT

Holy cow...just when you start to think that there's just no possible way that this pathetic VP selection could look any worse, along comes another bombshell, this one from the venerable National Enquirer, who recently broke a similar story about John Edwards, and also broke the Monica Lewisnky story years ago.  If there's one thing that the NE appears able to find with some degree of credibility, it's sexual sleaze with regard to celebrities.

We shall see.  Meanwhile, it's going to be VERY interesting to see the hypocrisy and double standards come forth from the "right" once again, to defend the indefensible, after the way that they all danced in the streets over the Edwards' story.

I just love Sarah Palin!  Don't all liberals by now?

And remember, the national enquirer broke the edwards affair story, and an affair story about Bubba some years ago, among others.

Teehee. Damn this is getting good. I am sure if she had the affair it was gods design or she was saved by Jesus or she repented.

I think McCain knew all about this and possibly one of the reasons he picked her.

National Enquirer. LOL.

Dial back 2 months when the MSM refused to follow up Edwards story from the National Enquirer. Republicans were outraged.

Why don't they pressure the MSM to follow up. CNN, MSNBC, .... have refused to say a word about this. Pressure them, republicans, they need to follow this up.

HYPOCRITES!!!

By the way, the NE, really believes in this. They had 3 people up there. They are sending 4 more reporters plus a team of Papa Razzis.

She's got 2 weeks, tops, before she steps aside. She's destroying what was already a disastrously inept, collapsing campaign, almost single-handedly. I'm actually beginning to believe that she's a liberal plant.

If it is true, MSNBC would have ran with it by now. They are rabidily against Palin. They have so much bad bile in them in the last week they have tanker trucks storing it. The have become "Marxist Socialist NBC".

About time someone found her out. She's a hypocrite on a good day. She is anti-environment as well as anti-choice and has bit every hand that fed her just to get to the top. She thinks that the "national spotlight" should not apply to her--well it does. She called herself a pitbull w/lipstick. Pilbulls of American resent that remark

You do realize, I'm sure, that even if this story is proven to be true, it won't matter one bit to the flaming hypocrites on the "right," right? They'll simply make up some idiotic bullshit to justify it, and move along to their next moment of grand hypocrisy.

I'm with Ron on this one - I have my fingers crossed. The right torched Edwards for this sort of thing and essentially tried to run Bubba out of town for it.

I don't know - this one sounds almost too good to be true.

If it turns out to be true, it will quite the little scandal....

If it turns out to be false, the NE will have quite the little lawsuit.

"If it turns out to be false, the NE will have quite the little lawsuit."

They've only been successfully sued once, and that was many, many years ago. They're actually quite good at vetting their stories, and, as Thom Hartmann said today, they're the only news organization in the country that does any real investigative reporting anymore.

If this DOES turn out to be true, wouldn't it be interesting to learn that her lover's family had a history of down's syndrome genes?

Well what if the affair resulted in one of the 4 kids she had? I am still speculative on her having "had" the 5th one, it doesn't add up that a woman in labor would be allowed to fly on a commercial airline, that made a stop in Phoenix, before North to Alaska, and by the time Trig was born it would have been some 20 hours of labor, for a FIFTH child.

While it is true I don't care about their personal matters, I just can't stand to have them stand up and tell others how to be a good moral and christian values driven person while they are crossing their fingers behind their back as they preach.

Yes, without any question, there's only one thought more frightening to me than a doddering, confused, beligerant, tempermental old man with his finger on the nuclear button, and that's a freakish, cult-worshipping dominionist who doesn't have much use for the United States as it stands, and can't wait to start murdering jews. I have to admit, that thought does frighten me to the bone, and I think it should frighten every American and world citizen who gives a rat's ass about humankind's future, or lack thereof.

Whether she had an affair or not is completely irrelevant to whether she would make a good President of the U.S. I admit it would be ironic in light of the Republican's actions over the last 15 years but still irrelevant.

On the other hand her actions as Mayor and Governor are very relevant.

Also does anyone have information on her education? Where did she go to college?

She belongs to a far-right, extremist, kook religious cult that falls into the realm of "dominionism." These people are convinced that they are the Godly annointed ones who will have "dominion" over the planet, and that, in order for that to happen, all jews must either be converted or killed. Period. These people are quite literally dangerous to the entire world.

"Dear Clark,

You REALLY have an obsession with Sarah!!!

I'm beginning to think you're as afraid of her as Obama and Co. are. "

I think I've stated rather succinctly why she terrifies me, and why she SHOULD terrify EVERYONE who is a real American. Beyond all other disturbing facts about her, she is entirely unqualified for the position. For anyone to pretend that not to be the case, or to ignore the fact that, as running mate to a VERY old and frail man, she could VERY WELL BE FORCED INTO THE POSITION OF POTUS ON SHORT ORDER, is a direct threat to the very sanctity of this nation, and the stability of this world.

That far right extremists find her appealing only goes to show just how out of touch with reality this very small segment of society really is. Thankfully, they ARE a very small segment of society, and thankfully, Palin appeals to virtually nobody beyond that slice of dangerously uninformed voters.

She has a journalism degree from Northern Idaho (scary in itself, no?), though it took her five schools and six year to accomplish that feat. Impressive, eh?

This is so sad, first the tabloids demand DNA from her son and now they claim to know if an extra-marital affiar? Did anyone ask Biden for DNA from his children? Did anyone seek out any sexual partners that Obama may have had in his lifetime? The way this woman has been attacked with obscene rumors will do more to help her than hurt her. US Magazine was a sad commentary on journalism. In fact the magazine now admits that they created an unfair and untrue headline. Then they say they did not have time or space to include some details that would have changed the story. I am ashamed to be a reporter these days.

Palin the republican VP choice worries you but Obama the Democratic Presidential pick gives you no worries whatsoever? That is scary. No matter what things he has done his followers won't listen or believe. The media won't even go into his past problems. 20 years ago Palin's husband got a DUI....around the same time Obama was doing drugs. Its ok. He says he and Ayers are only neighbors....but they were on a board together. No one cares that he lies and says he never knew Wright was a bigot. He was close enough to Rezco for a nice land deal. There is more but it doesn't matter. You just overlook it. Doesn't matter....he can do absolutely nothing wrong. He wants to help you by taking from the rich and giving to the poor so he is wonderful . You don't see how all the things he wants to do will put us into more debt. I don't think it would go over so well if he took all the money from the rich...the rest will have to come from somewhere.

But here's the thing (trust me, I am not a fan of hers or McCains so I am no defending her for political reasons), if she was attached to this "church", how can we say that she believes all this stuff anymore than anyone else can say that Obama was standing in line with Rev. I could care less who is having sex with who as long as they are consenting adults. What I care about and I'm sure I'm not alone is that Sarah Palin is a "pit bull" ultra-conservative Right Wing extremist.

And I'd like to take issue with the idea being the governor of Alaska is in any way even remotely like being the governor of any other State. Alaska is a State dripping in so much oil money they give it away to their residents. I'm really sure it must be tough to manage a State budget like that... LOL!

In fact Alaska is so repleat with money, if they wanted, every child in that State could go to college for free. But they don't do things like that up there because it is a Republican dominated State and Republicans just don't think like that. To them it's "MY" money... WAAAHHH!!!

Kent, great Ceasar's ghost. What a scoop, but you left out the rest of the story. It was Sasquash who nailed her,Sarah and big foot got it on, on the north slope where Todd, her hubby works.Whyyy there, because Todd wanted to watch during his lunch hour.
Kent why did you leave that out.
I also read that Barack has taken out an order of protection against Keith Oberman and Chris Matthews. Matthews keeps getting this thing going down his leg whenever he hears the voice of his man.Keith Oberman, stopped taking his Viagra he no longer needs it after a few minutes around Barack. Remember Bill Maher said the other night that he thinks after listening to the horny musings of Keith and Chris that they want to have sex with him. Now Todd Palin's ex-business partner has filed for an emergency motion to have his divorce papers sealed.

"We gotta be fair guys. "

You don't get it. This is all about exposing the flaming, unimaginable hypocrisy of the typical wingnut. Ironically, one could say, although I tend to think that God is playing a large role, virtually every issue that they've howled and pissed and moaned and screamed about, with regard to democrats over the past several years, has come home to take a steamy, fresh turd on THEIR politicians.

Now, instead of admitting how wrong they were for the way that they behaved before, and admitting that by golly, it DOES look pretty bad when some of this stuff happens to their own, they're actually JUSTIFYING it, in any and every way possible!

My only point in presenting a story such as this, which is certainly unvetted to this point, but unquestionably worthy and certainly provocative, is to point out hypocrisy. It was only a few weeks ago that the rightwing was peeing all over themselves when the national enquirer released the story of Edwards' affair, yet suddenly, they're not credible enough to pay heed to!

I swear, sometimes this is just too easy. These wingnuts are just too damn predictable.

"Now Todd Palin's ex-business partner has filed for an emergency motion to have his divorce papers sealed."

Woah! This is getting interestinger and interestinger, isn't it!?

I also just read that the panel that's investigating her ethics violations charges in Alaska have announced that they're going to release their findings three weeks ahead of schedule (first week in Oct), and one of the members said "It's likely to cause damage to the governor's office." Ouch. Not to worry...she'll be gone before then, and we'll all be handwringing over McCains' judgement in picking Romney.

Well,

What might be said? Being a PK myself (a "Preacher's Kid), I know all too well about the so-called "holier than thou" types, and what really goes on in the . . . sanctity of the "church".

When it is claimed that the "holy spirit" is moving

(and notice that THIS TIME I did NOT capitalize "holy spirit"),

ooooooh yeah,

something "holy" or something may be "wholly" going on.

I just do not think that it is authorized by God,

or by

the Holy Spirit,

although many times there may be a lot of

thank you Jesuses being said.

No one is perfect, and that being said

don't place yourself in a National spotlight as being so.

I'm beginning to wonder at which point the GOP just tosses him and his newest wife into the trash heap and starts over. Seriously, this campaign is nothing short of a catastrophe. They've yet to utter a single coherent message, they have zero issues to talk about, they CLAIM to be for change, but support every single point of failure of the last 8 years...if it weren't such a deadly serious matter, this would be like a fricking comedy routine.

Consider this just a reminder, but while the culture war combatants here are trying to negotiate the new f*ckbuddy standards for high government officials, about 7000 families had their homes foreclosed on yesterday. About the same number today. Possibly even someone from the Gather community. As the new drill everywhere, drill now, drill whomever standards are being defined, another bank will probably go kaput after the close of business today, a Friday, the usual day for such things. Where's Nero when a little music might help the situation? As a consolation prize for all my wonky words, here's a recently discovered video of Sarah Palin and her boy toy having sex (Sarah is the one on top).

Late breaking news: a second Palin video has been discovered (again, she's the one on top).

I think some of this video may be garbage-untrue that others are circulating, not worth posting.

I think we need not to descend in the same pit with the republicans smears attack tactics.
I like to talk about facts about the candidates and abilities, achievements and most of all character.\
I have posted facts and we will learn about who is the best if we know the facts.
The gossip columns distracts, confuses, angers and it is destructive in nature.

I remind you that words can hurt more than stones and we should rise to the occasion here and get serious about the business of electing a president.

Why is Senator Obama tax plan beneficial to businesses?
and also saves money to most people.

How has McCain voted for the last 8 years on the environment and energy?

DO NOT,DO NOT,DO NOT,buy a home you know you can not afford,if you do you may lose your home.-Common sense tells every objective person that this is true. But not so with Obama and the democrat party-no,if you gamble and buy a home you know you can't afford not to worry its not your fault its W.'s fault,We democrats will bail you out just vote for us.We will make all those Americans who bought a home they could afford}suckers} pay your mortgage too. It's just not fair that these people should be able to keep their home when you are not. So elect Barack and belt way Biden and we will make the everyday responsible American family who pay thier motgage on time, pay your mortgage also.To Obama and the crats this is fairness. Have to go now,I'm going to buy a Yacht,I can not afford, but its a great deal-no money down- what do I have to lose? Barack and Biden will pick up the tab.

micky,
Again, you have proven you are an idiot.

When I bought my home six years ago, I carefully calculated my budget so that I knew not only how much my bills were, but that I would have $300 "extra" left at the end of the month to save.

Then my gas and electric bill went from $200 a month in the winter to $500 a month...even after I put in energy saving light bulbs, extra insulation, and weatherstripping.

Then it went from taking $20 a week to fill my tank to get back and forth to work to $60 a week.

Then my grocery bill went from $80 a week to $150...and I'm buying less food.

Then my property taxes doubled.

Maybe if you actually had responsibilities (I can't imagine someone who has demonstrated your level of illiteracy actually has a job) you would understand how the rest of us feel. My income has not kept up with inflation. Even though I work a full time job and run my own business.

Bill B: "How are you moonbats going to feel..."

As one moonbat to a wingnut, let me remind you that most Americans still believe that there's a branch of government called the Legislature (also known as Congress). As you know, the current President, a self-declared non-reader, probably hasn't read the Constitution. Anyway, to ramble on, incoherently, as is my want, Democrats, having won three special elections in red states. That tsunami is still headed this way. And it is possible that Palin/McCain (because Republicans elect figureheads who can be manipulated by their true master) might win, but just barely. It all depends on the number of racist voters. As you know a significant part of the electorate has already declared it will never vote for a woman--regardless of qualifications. Likewise, a part of the electorate, primarily in the losing Civil War states, will never vote for a black man. Neither of these is rocket science, Bill. It really depends on how much economic pain they are able to stand.

My current thinking is one-more Republican President, like Bush I, then Americans decide, ok, I'm ready to give up my fear addiction, enter a self-help program, and vote for another Bill Clinton--just get me out of this FISCAL CONSERVATIVE quagmire!

On the other hand, the Palin situation hasn't completely unraveled...

Julie,I grew up in the Bronx NY. I left high school when I was 16 yrs. old after my Dad passed away. Not a great education yes- an idiot I don't think so.When I was 17 an uncle of mine lent me 3,000 dollars so I could purchase a small candy store in the Bronx where I worked, that was 1961. I worked 15 to 18 hrs. a day to keep my bussiness going. My hard work paid off,I sold that store 10 years later for a good profit.
Later that year I bought a small deli and got married,I have never worked for anyone except myself since I was 18 yrs.old, I was a bussiness owner all my life. Married for many years and managed to raise 4 great son's.
Did you ever stop and think why your gas and electric is going up, oil shortage, it is a commodity in demand all over the world and in short supply.Unless we in America start to realize that and start drilling for our own oil the price will continue to rise, also the total tax on gasoilne is about 75 cents a gallon aka-high taxation.
Food bill up why?-Ethanol corn based fuel has driven the price of corn skyrocketing and that is the main reason of food increase.{JUST ANOTHER- Stupid POLITICAL PROGRAM-
School-taxes going up and driving people out of their homes why. A bunch of idiot politician in our communities and school boards that have no idea what they are doing. If you want to lower your tax vote for people of either party that will lower your taxes. We as a people In America today are the victims of corrupt politicians on all sides who are nothing more than a bunch of elitist lawyers stealing our hard earned money-and we let them. We just argue one against another trying to defend these bums.If you don't come to the conclusion that we are over-taxed-when you lose 40to 50 pct of your earnings' taken by a pack of fools and wasted on them buying a vote with that money, nothing is going to "CHANGE".

Clark, please forgive me for going off topic, but I just have to say something to micky d.

They say all things come to those who wait; and today is one of those days.

micky d. said: "..an uncle of mine lent me 3,000 dollars so I could purchase a small candy store.." (micky d., Sep 6, 2008, 3:00pm EDT)

I think I've been waiting almost two years to hear this. In numerous previous articles, micky has chastised the impoverished for not pulling themselves up solely by their own bootstraps. "micky" has always gone on and on about how he created his life all on his own, through hard work and sacrifice, with no help from anyone else. Now the truth is revealed. Some family member loaned him the start-up money that launched his successful career.

Thank You Jesus for laying the complete truth bare !!

Bill only a typical liberal bone-head could say that having your father die when you are 16 yrs.old is a lucky thing. To a welfare liberal like you Bill if I would have spent that money on drugs and booze and gone on welfare that would earn me a pat on my back from idiots that think like you. Re-cap 16 YEAR OLD BOY'S FATHER DIES and Bill's spirit tells him that I was a very lucky 16 year old.-yeah! Bill if only every 16 year old could be lucky enough to have their Dad die. My God!!!!

micky d. -- What an odd and misplayed blame storm you are trying to lay on me.

I didn't say anything about your father dying when you were 16; not one word. I spoke only to your statement that an uncle gave you business start-up money when you were 17. So Yeah, Lucky you!! I lost my Dad when I was three years old; and no one ever gave me $3,000 (in 1960's money) to get my life going.

Secondly, I've told you before that I am not a liberal; let alone a welfare liberal. I'm a moderate; and I believe in meritocracy.

"DO NOT,DO NOT,DO NOT,buy a home you know you can not afford,if you do you may lose your home"

What an idiot. You once again prove that you're stupid enough to vote republiCON. The mortgage banking crisis is a republiCON creation, not democratic, you moron. None other than McCain's trusted "economics advisor," Phil Gramm is the one who orchestrated policies that not only created this disastrous mess (which taxpayers will, of course, have to clean up...thank you once again, republiCONs, for miserably failed governance), but also the infamous "Enron loophole" that allowed massive companies such as that one to collapse. Once again, average working Americans got shafted by failed republiCON policies.

The vast majority of the millions of Americans that republiCONs are tossing out to the streets because of their catastrophically failed policies are in trouble, not because they bought more house than they could afford, but that they either:

A) Lost their jobs due to failed bushonomics
B) Have incurred massive medical bills that their insurance company would not pay
C) Had no way to budget for the massive increases in energy, food, and general cost of living that the collapsed bushco economy would shackle them with
D) Were sold mortgages by deceptively inscrupulous (no doubt, republiCON) bankers, who only wanted to make a quick buck, and didn't give a rat's ass what happened later on.

Just remember, whenever republiCONs are in power, you WILL be screwed over and over and over again, in more ways than you can count, UNLESS, you happen to be one of the elite upper crust of society, earning more than a million per year. That upper 1/10 of 1% is the ONLY constituency that the republiCON policies benefit. If you're not earning a million per year and you're voting republiCON, you're an idiot.

"What do u have say abt the republican administration bailing out Bears & Stearns when their gamble failed. We r ready to bail out the rich but not the poor."

This is the core essence of republiCON government. Hand the nation's trust over to plutocrats, let them pillage, rape, burn, and steal at will until the system that they're overseeing collapses, then get the suffering taxpayers to bail it out. It's called "vulture capitalism," and it's at the core of neoconomics. That's what the whole "privatization" movement is all about. Hand the nation's infrastructure over to millionaires, let them gut it until it collapses, then get the taxpayer to foot the bill, and hand it over to MORE millionaires to mismanage to collapse again.

The bottom line in all of this is that neoconomics is a miserably failed policy that is destroying this nation from within.

I just saw Tom Hoenig(President of the FRB in Kansas City) speak to a bunch of college students. He said he wasn't sure he would make it because they were busy bailing out Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae to the tune of 200 billion dollars. he told they had to go out and be great entrepreneurs because they were looking down the barrels at trillions next time. Economists are such killjoys! The rich think the federal treasury is just a big fa pinato full of cnady and toys. Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover(John McCain)

"bailing out Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae to the tune of 200 billion dollars"

This will become trillions before it's over. What needs to be learned from this are two things:

1) stripping away regulatory oversight ala republiCON economics, is a recipie for utter collapse.

2) Phil Gramm is the architect of this collapse (and ENRON), and is McBush's economics advisor, and would become treasury sec. in a McBush white house.

Think things are bad right now? Just put the chief architect of this disaster in the white house and see how much worse things can get.

We should not be bailing out any corporation that fails because of poor management or illegal activity. Just as we should not be bailing out people who do to their own bad decisions make a mess of their lives. Kent once again you just bury your mis-informed head in the sand.Fanny and Freddie govt."rip-off,federal agency's where run by Clinton appointed crooks.Franklyn Raines,Jamie Galarik,Robert Johnson all three of these crooks were members of the Clinton cabinet. As usual Kent, all we get from you is a stupid liberal rant. "We should not be bailing out any corporation that fails because of poor management or illegal activity."

What's the alternative, when republiCON policies have allowed these companies to grow too large to fail? In other words, if something as large as a Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac goes down, so does the entire economy. Same can be said for any number of other massive corporation that republiCONs have allowed to grow FAR beyond what they should've been allowed to grow.

If a company is so large that it's failure would bring about the failure of the entire nation's economy, they are a threat to national security, and should be nationalized immediately, then broken up into smaller pieces, and prevented from ever growing that large again.

This is what laws such as the Sherman antitrust act were put in place for, but the vulture capitalist republiCONs just couldn't have that. Nope. Can't have ANY public oversight of private companies. Gotta have "free market" capitalism.

That way, when the company is surviving, the CEO and other execs are able to shovel millions upon millions upon millions of dollars into their pockets, and the moment the company fails, US taxpayers are suddenly called upon to pick up the pieces. This completes the vicious republiCON circle of life for massive transfer of wealth, from the hands of the public to the hands of the elite few.

This collapse needs to be held up, just as ENRON, TYCO, Global Crossing, etc. were, as shining examples of the failures of republiCON economics policies.
