Ok, we all know that crying isn't allowed in politics (Rush Limbaugh), and that it is to be mocked, ridiculed, and laughed at uncontrollably and at great length, but it's probably worth noting what it was, in all probability, that caused dear, sweet poppy, best friend of Saddam, to burst out in tears yesterday, while discussing his corrupt son Jebbie.
I stumbled across this article today, and found it to be not only rather brilliant, but rather telling and prophetic as well. Had the author known that poppy was going to burst out crying yesterday, it seems, based upon what he's written here, that he'd have undoubtedly made this link himself.
As it is, I'll take it upon myself to make this assumption, based upon what he's written. I believe that, the main reason for poppy acting like a 3 year old in public yesterday was not that corrupt little Jebbie had lost his first gubenatorial run, but that it was junior, and not Jebbie (who is without question, far superior to junior in terms of intellect, maturity, and apparent abilities) who is the current occupant of the white house.
To everyone in the world except for junior, it has become abundently clear that he has failed miserably, and will, without question, go down in history as the most corrupt, most miserably failed president that this nation has ever had the misfortune of being abused by.
As Mr. Lendmen points out, it is not just the American public and the world in general who have been forced to, and will continue to suffer as a direct result of junior's disastrous mismanagement, but the very Bush crime family dynasty itself. In 6 short years, junior is destroying what has taken decades, and even centuries to build. By the time he's tossed to the historical shit can and flushed away, whether it be in shackles or not, he will have destroyed any other Bush crime family member's chances of ever obtaining the golden ring, and will have so thoroughly damaged the reputation of the corrupt family that their level of power in the world will be severely diminished forevermore.
If this turns out to actually be true, we can all give a collective sigh of relief in knowing that our great sacrifice, that of having been forced to have endured this horrific presidency, will have served to benefit all of humanity for the rest of human history. By our having endured this incompetent, corrupt, dangerous little fool and suffering the consequences of his epic failures, we will effectively serve as warning to mankind throughout the rest of history, to never again allow the Bush crime family to hold positions of leadership. For this, we can all be sincerely thankful to God almighty.
The article linked is quite lengthy, so I encourage you to print it out and read it at your convenience. It's more than worth the read, if nothing else than to learn a bit about the sordid, criminal history of the most corrupt family in American politics. My gratitude to www.smirkingchimp.com, for bringing this wonderful article to my attention.

Don't believe it for a second. There are literally mountains of evidence that points to fraud in both elections.
I hope not. In spite of Bush I pray that there's still courage, energy, and intellect in the American electorate. I don't want to see us become the France of the future, a tired, fearful, and backward looking society, too absorbed with past glory to be bothered with a future at all.
All great nations have their moments of glory and then decline. I would have hoped we could step down gracefully and with our honor intact rather than be pulled down by a self-absorbed fool with delusions of grandeur and more interested in his own prestige than in the lasting dignity of his country.
I honestly don't this nation will ever right itself without some sort of collapse, unfortunately. The corruption and greed has so intertwined itself into every level of government that I simply don't see any way to remove it, short a collapse and restructure.
We've allowed families like this filthy Bush crime family to mislead us and inject their corrupt war profiteering into the high levels of government for generations now, to the point where it's utterly impossible to imagine a way to rid ourselves of all of the cockroaches. What a sad state.
I heard on PBS yesterday that Mexico is the world's most divided country, having the worst disparity between rich and poor. That's the society envisioned for us by the Bush clan, and their supporters, where the super rich are secure in their elevated position and the rest of us struggle for the basic needs of life. In W's mind that's the way things should be. Could it be, in fifty years, that Americans will be fleeing this country in order to find a decent life in another country, in a society that cares about the human condition?
In the New York Times today there's an article about America's agricultural "bread basket" moving north into Canada, due to climate change. One poster made the point that people in the midwest habitually vote Republican, the party most responsible for the U.S.'s wretched reputation on global warming. By 2050 they may be living the lives of refugees, or trying to sneak into Canada to find work. Who will they blame then? Will they realize that they voted for imposters on the basis of false promises, or for shameless opportunists who fed them their own prejudices and then robbed them of the American dream. Is it already too late?
Great societys lose their way because they prefer their own fantasies to the reality in front of them. They want to hear their politicians tell them how great they are without being asked to prove it, to ACT great and not merely believe that past glories justify everything, or anything.
I truly believe we in are self-destructing. When Mao took China the right wingers went ballistic looking for someone to blame for "losing China" not realizing that we ourselves were at fault, our perspective being unrealistic. The communist witch hunts began because we were looking for scapegoats. When China, or Russia takes our position in the near future as the first among nations will we realize that we let this happen because we couldn't face up to the reality of the world and preferred the ravings of a fool to the words of those who dared to tell us the truth?
Alas! The silver lining! Thanks for pointing out the article. I have printed it out and will read what's left of it a little later.
Still, I echo Glen D's tempered optimism. We are now addressing the huge levels of corruption which I see beginning in 1994. Democrats have an opportunity to do the right thing. Let's hope they do it right. Job one needs to be cleaning up the corruption.
You've got it backwards. The retreads chose Bush, because of his name only. Cheney, Rumsfeld, Negroponte, Poindexter, etc., have been scrambling their entire political careers to have their shot at the golden ring. They knew that junior boy cheerleader would provide him with the name recognition that could get them there, albeit it with a bit of help from a corrupt SCOTUS along the way.
I honestly don't believe that junior ever really wanted the job at all, except for the ego hard on. He's been a lazy, incompetent failure his entire life, and every time something's gone awry, he's walked away and left daddy to clean up his messy diapers. Things are no different now, except that now it's the entire nation (and world) that's suffering through his unending failures.
