It took me a while to catch on when I first came to Gather. :) I only posted this poem to 1 group so I'm posting it a 2nd time. I hope that's acceptable. I might look at a couple more early ones also.
On a fall afternoon I was walking in my daughter's yard when a warped, brown leaf landed on my sweater. My mind wandered. In all this huge universe, how did I and this particular leaf come together?
Part of His Plan
A soft brown leaf blew by me today
A tiny life lived, now ebbing away
It didn't start here; in the place that I see
Its story began in Eden with me.
The God of all Matter and Motion and Time
Had just spoken forth a Creation sublime
In Adam God breathed life into me
We awoke to the vision of a great green tree
And all through the ages God brought forth His plan
From Adam and Eve, generations of man
Animals, plants & Trees all combined
To fill up the earth, each after it's kind
Before creation, God planned this day
And the soft brown leaf that blew my way
He planned, on this day, to call out to me
So He planted a stripling, a small green tree
The tree's first summer was dry and hot
Which stunted one limb in a certain spot
That was the spot allotted the leaf
That struggled through birth with joy and grief
As Spring wore on it gave life to a worm.
A butterfly hatched that carried forth germ
to a waiting flower that grew up to be
A bouquet from a he to a beautiful she
The little warped leaf, with it's worm hole too
Waved in the air as all leaves do
It waved through its life to the great fall wind
And as God planned, life came to an end
As it drifted down from it's lofty home
To mix with the grass in an earthy loam
It entered my vision and mind that day
I thought about God and began to pray

Thanks ms Beth - Hoping for the $$$ :) I'll come & help you with points.
It really is 2 stories ... the leaf only an allegory. Pecking at my head again.
Blessings ~

Thank you for your comments on my Choices article...very much appreciated my friend.
Thank you for coming by.
Thanks for that mind expanding thought ... from all of us :)
I've been with my Mom at the hospital and brought her home this afternoon. I just got her into bed and am anxious to see what changes Gather wrought :)
And hear what complaints the Gatherers have. This is my first stop so
I'm encouraged. Thanks for coming by.
Life is overwhelming right now. My Mom is all consuming right now and I am her only caregiver plus other things.
It's not bad ... it will pass, but it splatters my mind and I'm not creative at all.
It is nice to be missed :)
I keep skipping people. I think I've skipped you for a while. I'll come over and check see what I've missed.
I've been very uninspired and under pressures the last couple of months & haven't followed most of my friends or published. I'm coming over to your site to see what you've posted regarding your stroke.
Thanks for coming by and commenting. I'll be over in the morning.
You are very welcome Jasper ... and well deserving.
One Lord and Creator is a pre-planned or destined truth of the material world ....
So well versed 'n' thru, I enjoyed reading it thru !!!
There are a lot of differences all over the world ... but when we look up, no matter where we live ... the heavens cry out "THERE IS A CREATOR." :):) I agree with you!
Thanks for the friends request. I came to your profile and saw this.
Made me tear up.
Beautiful!!
Please read
This
'Before creation, God planned this day.' (I think this verse is the thread that runs through your poem).
I mentioned this to someone before ... a couple of months ago I was talking to my daughter that had been hit by a car at 13. She had some brain damage & we went through a couple of tough years but now, 35 years later, we would not change what happened. God was there ... using all things together for good. Every tear has it's part to play. Warps and worm holes play an important part in His plan. :)
These are YOUR pages.
And this is a good one!
