Wanted: Ideas for Christmas Paintings

If you are familiar with my "stained-glass-canvas" style acrylic paintings, then perhaps you would be willing to help me with my immediate need: I want ideas for interesting subjects along the theme of Christmas that I can turn into paintings for my local display locations (three venues).

I look forward to reading your suggestions.

Hey Jimmie, you know the whole thing is about the birth of Jesus. The baby, the star, nativity scene, Bethleham, ....huh. Almost everything is cliche. How about an abstraction concerning the birth of a new religion, a new way of looking at God, from a legalistic quagmire to the ease of only believing, from complexity to simplicity. Dark to light. Cut that glass and lay it in place. By the way, I love your stained glass painting. Great idea. tvh

And carrying that idea of penguins even further, what about other coastal birds that are somehow decorated for the Christmas season with holly berries and leaves, trees, lights. Puffins are really cute birds and people like those and a Christmas one would be super cute!

Then carrying the idea of animals even further, how about other coastal sea life? Even seaweed would be pretty if it was decorated for Christmas. Then there's seals and whales, well things that live in the ocean.

As in many other European countries, on the eve of Dec. 6th children place a shoe or boot by the fireplace. During the night, St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children, hops from house to house carrying a book of sins in which all of the misdeeds of the children are written. If they have been good, he fills the shoe or boot with delicious holiday edibles. If they have not been good, their shoe is filled with twigs.
