Following are excerts of emails I got from Barbra L (loveshortstories). I haven't had the problem she describes. Does/Has anyone else? Can anyone help her? If anyone could help her, it would be appreciated greatly! She is missed, and I'm sure she also misses being able to publish writing and making comments.
(April 4th.)
"I have not been able to publish anything since yesterday around noon. Gather's publishing system page will not stop loading. The little wheel keeps turning and the Loading message stays out. The publishing page will not open. I emailed Tom Gerace last night about it"
(Today, April 5th.)
"I still cannot publish anything. Is Gather's publishing system's problems fixable only from their technicians or could there be something wrong on my end? I've not been able to publish since Tues. and have not received a reply from anyone I've contacted. Any suggestions?"

I can make comments, but nothing else.
Barbra, you're very welcome! A while back I had problems of not being able to post comments. Hope how soon you're able to publish again!
To make a long story short, it won't work for me, either, and this has happened about 8 times over a series of different days. It let through a little blurb I sent to Gather glitches about it and that is all.
April: Thank you for mentioning that! I'm so glad it worked for LL, but whatever my problem is, it is not responding to Internet Explorer. Thanks for the email response, too!
How kind of you! What a lovely compliment! (And very much a likewise)!
Amanda, You are the best my friend and I promise you I admire you and your work more than you could ever mine. Love Ya!
I have contacted Gather. You'll note in my first email that Virginia copied that I sent Tom Gerace an email.
Yesterday I went to Kevin's article for members to leave requests for help and left a comment there. I also sent Gather's support for members' staff an email today and yesterday but have heard nothing to date.
I went back to Kevin's article today and there was no answer. The comment section at the bottom of the page indicated that his last comment was on April 2 but to the upper left of the page today's date, April 5, was the last date he'd signed in.
I'm sure they have a million and one emails and it would be hard for them to keep up with all that contact them.
Your tip was helpful to one of us and that is great! It worked for her and if you'll go to her namespace (LL DeMerle) and read her articles about her problems, they had gone on for 8 days! So your tip was a great + even though it didn't solve my problem. I think it's because she and I are having different problems though. She could get in but I can't even do that.
Your showing up to help, April, was a great thing. Thanks again. :)
Virginia and All:
Shortly after I signed out of Gather and went OFF the internet awhile ago, a screen note appeared on my monitor when I turned the computer back ON and said something about a 32.dll was relocated in my memory and to contact my dll vendor.
I'm thinking that stands for 'dynamic link library'. Nonetheless I called my Internet Service Provider and explained things to him and he said there was a possibility my publishing file was bad. He did a Google search (just typed in 32.dll) and it came up with sites to go to for downloads and other info.
I will check this out further and perhaps this will fix the problem.
If you have had experience with this before, let us know. It might help someone else, too. THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME.
Thanks again for all of your input.

I did visit that site and it is helpful. It is worth checking out. Thanks so much.
I called Technical Support @ the HP Customer Support Center today because a different screen note came up on my monitor with a red caution @ its left referencing:
RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation--The automated voice reference this problem and said to go to:
//support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/ for the solution to the problem. I went there and downloaded and installed their KB/935448 package and rebooted my computer.
The screen note regarding the illegal DLL system was no longer there. The DLL problem to my knowledge is gone. But I still cannot publish here. I have sent emails to Tom Gerace, Kevin V., the support@gather contacts and one other lady from the member support team. I'm perplexed as to why there is no response. This is the fourth day. Surely one of these has gotten an email. I hope the DLL note will help someone else. Apparently, it has become quite a problem but the solution is @ microsoft.
I have been away from Gather this past week, and I am just returning today to a more 'normal' level of activity. I also read, and responded to your mail message, and will forward over some additional recommendations to you shortly.
Also, just so you know, I don't work for Gather, Inc.

I have received both of your emails. I'm glad to have heard from you especially on a Saturday.
The information you gave me helped tremendously. I can now publish! I am going to copy and paste the information you gave me via email, to this comment section. It was so helpful and may help someone else who might run into the same problem that I did.
I cannot thank you enough. I appreciate everything you did. I will remember that you do not work for Gather, Inc.!
Here is what I would suggest:
1) If you are using Internet Explorer or AOL, then download and use Firefox to access Gather and attempt to publish. If you already are using Firefox, then use Internet Explorer.
2) Make certain you have the latest versions of your browser software.
3) If none of the above work, then turn OFF (temporarily) any virus protection programs you have running, and see if that makes a difference. Be certain to use both IE and Firefox.
4) If none of these steps work, then turn off your internal firewall software (temporarily), and try again. Also, try this in IE and Firefox.
Try all of the above, and let me know what happens.
Thanks,
Kevin
Thank you for helping Barbra. That was so nice of you!!
It is so nice to know she can now fully access Gather.
Barbra,
Welcome back!!! :)
