I've been following this Sandy Knauer-Mary H*-Clay D*-K* H-Wendy-TJ^ thing (^insert name of choice) for weeks. Needless to say, Gather's soap opera is becoming way more interesting than TV. Gather's now the new Jerry Springer, with a little Judge Judy and the View thrown in for balance.
Now, I know "my" Gather Sandy is a "real" published author, and when I know published authors, I usually try to buy one of their books, as to have a point of reference. I also know that there is another Sandy-Sandra Knauer, who is a psychologist. That person also writes books. It is unclear whether or not she is on Gather.
So I went to Amazon.com to see if I could buy one of "my" Sandy's novels. I came away very confused! Both Sandy Knauers are listed as Sandy. I can't tell which is which, and I certainly don't want to buy a book from the Sandy who isn't one of my Gather people.
My thought is that the two books listed in the next paragraphs are the "other" Sandy's. What is very amazing is the going price for both of them.

Recovering from Sexual Abuse, Addictions and Compulsive Behaviors. This one is $34.93 new.

No Ordinary Life: Parenting the Sexually Abused Child and Adolescent. This one is $152.86! USED!
The other Sandy's books are definitely raking in some major bucks. Looks like she's an expert on sexual abuse. Isn't "my" Gather Sandy a novelist? Well, I don't know, maybe "my" Gather Sandy is making a really fair living, too.
What are the odds of it? That two women with the same name are published authors? You couldn't script a screenplay like this if your life depended on it.
Could this be the reason why some people have their panties in a bunch over "our" Sandy? They think she's the"other" Sandy?
Anyway, I wish to close this with my quote from the day, which has some relevance, (maybe not) and is from Lily Tomlin. "The trouble with a rat race is that even when you win, you're still a rat."

I find the whole social-media "thing" addictive, but I haven't been following anyone but you and Melissa and a few other favorites! Keep writing, gather girlfriend, and I'll buy a boatload of your books whether their sold via amazon.com, self-published, or anything else.
Sandy, I've heard good things about your writing. I see nothing wrong with self-promotion or links to one's own books or articles. I think any of us enjoy getting feedback....that's one of the things I like best about gather.com.

First to make up for the moronic assassination attempts.
Secondly, so that you can continue to point profit by the hench people.
Lastly just because you're the bomb.
=)
And, as long as you guys are in book-buying mode, I could use a little action:
www.lulu.com/ruthdickson
or LIFE, DEATH AND OTHER TRIVIA on amazon.com
And please don't confuse me with the wrong Ruth Dickson.
Sandy, I'll trade you one of yours for one of mine. Deal?
I can't believe that I'm in total agreement with TJ AGAIN!
It's the end of the world!
