Oh, my gosh. I loved playing Clue, we didn't have the game, but we played it at a friend's home. Dodge ball was a favorite at school! I never played flashlight tag at night. We played tag at my cousin's home by the light of the lightening before we had to shag down to the cellar when the tornado siren sounded in Oklahoma one time! Now, that was different!!
Cowboys and Indians. My cousin Randy got to be the cowboy because he had a pony to ride. My cousin Linda and I had to be the Indians because neither of us had a horse.
Hide and seek (where i got my first kiss at age 5!), freeze tag, red rover, model school (my sister took like a zillion pictures of me), we played house with our Barbies, but we din't have a Ken doll, so it could get pretty interesting...lol
Cowboys and Indians was always fun. I and my husband remember when we were kids we would shoot our fingers like a six-gun and yell "bang, bang!" at our foes. Hide and seek was always a favorite, too. I had a friend who had the first Barbie doll, but I had a little baby brother at the time those came out, so I wasn't really into playing dolls anymore. Thanks for the memories, y'all!
I grew up on a dead end street with lots of kids of all ages. I remember playing back-lot soft ball with rules changed to accomodate for age differences. In a nearby woods we did the Tarzan thing--the big kids would cut wild grape vines to swing over the creek. We would build forts and play hide and seek, too. Kick ball was fun; My Grandfather had a minor heart attack teaching us grand kids how to play "kick the can". We played hop scotch, from a good swing we would leap over a rope, and I vaguely remember flashlight/freeze tag too.
