What's in a name?

I am constantly being called Roseanne instead of Roxanne....pain in the neck sometimes. My cousin's name is Roseanne and when I was little and visited her, we both were called Rosie.

It's not my name so much, it's my INITIALS when I remarried. I swear, we should've taken my maiden name, cuz now my initials spell..........MEN! Argh!

My problem isn't so much my name as it is that I have a high voice and am often called "ma'am". Like the name Brad and the facial hair aren't a clue.

Nobody ever messes up my name, it's so boring. And common. On the West Coast it seemst that every Tom, Dick, and Harry is named David.

I get called Wendy ALL the time!

My Aunt Nancy wouldn't hyphenate when she got married because her initials would have spelled NAG. LOL

My name is Leah (pronounced Le-ah)

By mistake I am called:

Lee, or Leanne or Layah.

Incoorect spellings:

Lea, Lia, Leaha, Lee, Leigh, Leigha, Leighah

People don't really get my name wrong when saying it, but I have yet to see one person spell it right the first time around. Heck, people I've known for years still spell it "Vicki" or "Vicky" or even "Vickie".
Sometimes if someone doesn't hear me right they may think I said Nikki or Ricki.

Alot of people leave the "e" off my name too. Either that or they get Rochelle out of my name.......strange....

When I was married, my initials were RCMMC......back to maiden name RCMM

If we're talking about initials, I had it easy. I went from VMM to VMMM. :-)

I work with a lot of foreign nationals so I am more often Joanne rather than Joan.

for some reason, people are inclined to call my 5-yo Lexie (her name is Alexis)

People call me Lee or Layah, and it drives me nuts!!

Simon, sidney, sid, seymore, sey, steve, si, saymore. The best is when I was living in Italy I had to use my middle name (because it was on my passport). Middle name is Jay, which has two letters that dont exist in Italian. Pronounced Yai (rhymes with tie) .

The good part (I think) - I am the only person in the world with my name.
