A new study just out reports to major findings.
1. Illegals are taking jobs from native Americans, with the most impacted our youth, and young black men.
2. The hiring of illegals is creating a break down in our labor standards and laws, and threatening both Social Security and the Unemployment system.
American workers are being negatively impacted, and our children are being negatively impacted, and could see their long term earning capability negatively impacted due to their inability to get work experience as young men and women....so, how long are we going to IGNORE THIS REALITY, and welcome scab laborers, criminals to come here illegally, steal our jobs, depress our wages before we demand Washington ENFORCE OUR LAWS?
Study: Illegal immigration hurts poor U.S.-born workers

The members of the labor force that have been most affected by the massive influx of illegal immigrants into the United States over the past five years are low-skilled, young native-born workers, according to a recent study issued by the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University.
“It appears that employers are substituting new immigrant workers for young native-born workers,” economists Andrew Sum, Paul Harrington and Ishwar Khatiwada wrote. “The negative impacts tended to be larger for in-school youth compared to out-of-school youth, and for native-born black and Hispanic males compared to their white counterparts.”
Moreover, the authors wrote, the rise in immigrant employment, especially among illegal workers over the past decade, has contributed to a breakdown in the nation’s labor laws and labor standards, undermining the unemployment insurance and Social Security systems and basic worker protections that have evolved over the last century.

Does that mean opposing their right to live? Or just opposing their right to work in America? How about letting them live in America but not allowing them to work? That would take care of your concern over jobs, wouldn't it? But then they'd have no way to support themselves, so we'd have to pay for welfare. We wouldn't want to do that, so we'd have to let them work. But then they'd be taking jobs! So we should just keep them out of the country. But if they're not in America, then they'd take the jobs that are shipped there as a result of free trade. So we'd actually have fewer jobs than if we let them here to begin with.
What do you think of genocide, Porgie? (just a question not an advocation)
We should TAKE CARE OF OWN FIRST, then with what is left, be charitable to the world. It's numb nuts like you that think American absorb every person in the world that have allowed this problem to get to where it is.
The answer is simple:
1. Build our fence, and not just 700 miles, but 2200 miles of it.
2. Armed troops on our border with Mexico that have the right to use deadly force if necessary.
3. Strong work place enforcement, with prison time for companies hiring illegals, and the same standards for those who rent to illegals, or provide them help in remaining in America illegally...THINK CATHOLIC CHURCH AND CHARITIES.
4. Begin deportations of those who do not self deport themselves.
. The league you have to remember that this nation was built off the work of its citizens for the past 200+ years. Now corrupt governments like Mexico who actually like the idea of having the ones they dont want to provide for sneek into America and sending American revenue back to Mexico. League your advocacy is misguided compassion that will never solve the problems for those who have no means of sneeking to America. YOU are part of the problem!
Article rated 10.
You stated OUR youth and YOUNG BLACK MEN. First of all, all you needed to say was "our youth", secondly you just insinuated that only young black men can do the jobs that the illegals are doing.
True Porgie was making the point that "especially" black youths will suffer. The Mexicans move into predominantly black areas and take jobs for less than black Americans will work for. It hurts them worse than anybody else.
True American...read the article...leaving out the word OUR does not negate the truth I stated. The article states that our youth are being negatively impacted, with the most impacted group being young black men. Last report I read on the statistics stated that Americans in the lowest 30 percent of work force (based on wage earned) are suffering an 8 percent in wage depression as a result of illegal aliens in the work force. That figure jumps to 13 percent in wage depression for young black men between 12-25.
Contrary to what Daniel wants to infer, this is NOT about people having a second car in their driveways, or a BIGGER HOUSE...it's about keeping their heads above water. Between 2000-2006, 4.2 million of the jobs created WENT TO ILLEGALS, while native (as in born here) citizens saw a total job decline of over 450,000.
Plenty of money...there is PLENTY OF MONEY IN MEXICO...problem is, those with it want to keep ALL OF IT, and are quite happy with two classes of people, the very rich and the very poor. Half of Mexico's problems could be eliminated if the tax rate on their wealthiest citizens was not a PALTRY nine percent.
True- still no fact or logic to your criticism. I'm supposed to aggree with you because you say you know what you are talking about? At leaste reference the article.
Now, I am curious...WHERE WOULD YOU DRAW THE LINE.
If you speak to those who support illegals, if you speak with those who are illegal, they want NO LINE DRAWN. If we were to say put up a fence with a magic want tomorrow, and said everyone here now can stay, that is NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM...they want their family members here, and Mexico wants not only more visa's, but wants them RESERVED for Mexicans.
So tell me, where do we draw the line so that our own citizens, our own families futures are secured?
Bring their families over? So, you want the 12-20 million to be SIXTY MILLION? Like I said Daniel, WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE?
Porgie is right. My uncle is a land lord and Mexicans offer twice what the rent is if he would rent to them. He wont do it but many greedy slumlords would call him a fool.
They should not be secured. Survival of the fittest. America was founded with no limits on immigration. That is what made America great. My family will be sescured, thanks to 2nd amendment.
Of course we cant let all 6 billion people live here, so maybe we should make a test for people to stay. If people are stupid or lazy, ship them out! That will keep america the greatest nation on Earth!
Between the two homes, there are now 27 automobiles...needless to say, where once there was no parking problem, we now have a SERIOUS ONE. The house next two us was CHOPPED UP into four apartments...the population in that house varies depending on the time of the year (some of them head home during winter months) between 20-35. The house across the street...we have photographed ELEVEN PEOPLE coming out of ONE APARTMENT to get into a van early in the morning.
I'll not bore you with al the sordid details, but I can tell you from living it, that my wife and I's property value has dropped over $50,000 because of this situation...do not tell me it does not happen, I am living it.
Illegals are breaking our laws, coming here and stealing our jobs, lowering our wages, and that is OK by you, so if we want to stop it, we should be stronger than they? Think about what you are advocating before letting your arse over run your brain.
If you have a duplex meant for two families (small families), and suddenly those houses have 20 people in them, things go downhill. Let me give you a list.
1. The landlord owning the home is ALL ABOUT money in his pocket, so things like mowing the grass are NOT AND ISSUE for him, he lets it grow out of hand, usually until he gets a $25 citation from the city, at which point he sends his kid over with a weed whacker.
2. In our town garbage is picked up once a week...when you have 20 people living in a home, once a week is inadequate, so the trash builds up enough to create a health issue.
One and two above create a situation RIPE for both cockroaches and rats...both of which have now become a problem where before the was NOT ONE.
3. These illegals LOVE TO HAVE A CAR...as I pointed out in an earlier comment, we now have parking issues on our street where before there was not one. For instance, we have enough parking in front of our house for TWO CARS, and that is pretty much the standard on our street, and only two of the houses have garages as it is an old neighborhood. We have (counting homes on both side of the street) 12 houses on this block, so enough parking for 24 cars, two per house. Suppose you want me to believe it is OK for two of those 12 houses to use up the parking for the ENTIRE BLOCK? Suppose you cannot see where these kinds of issues begin to depreciate the value of our homes?
Daniel if you make an illegal immigrant community (such as the Mexican) legal they are impowered to change laws that you wont be able to turn back. Many Love Mexico and their interests and loyalty belong there. You would give them voting empowerment. You have no I dea what you are asking for.
I'm not a STUPID MAN, but I do believe in abiding by our laws here in America, so I will not hire ILLEGALS. This adherence to our laws has come at a price, as I now cannot compete with the pricing structure brought to the landscaping industry by those companies willing to hire illegals, as well as by illegals now going out and using FAKE ID's to get a business license to operate in our county. My own business revenues are down over 40 percent.
Unionized carpenters and sheet rockers sit idle in Union Halls because contractors are hiring illegals at day labor sites. This is spoken about in the article, the study clearly states that our labor laws and standards are declining as a result of illegals in the work force.
Furthermore, lets talk about remittances, estimated to be saved and sent back home at a rate of five percent of earnings...last year, over 120 BILLION dollars left America, which represents and underground economy in the illegal community of over 2.4 TRILLION A YEAR....taxes on that income would come in close to 6oo BILLION a year...which is why the study also states that our Social Security System and unemployment are being put at risk as well, as the funds that would normal go to those two parts of our Social Service programs is not being collected.
What you are supporting, is the wholesale ruination of America's middle and lower class in the name of ILLEGALS.
From this point on I dont think Daniel is an intellectually honest or serious debator. Hell from the sounds of it he may be an illegal alien. That said energy used debating him is now considered a waste.
No one is against "human beings" just the law breakers. That means when a country has a law and you break it, YOU are a law breaker otherwise known as a criminal.
Daniel, how's your memory? We did let everyone in, remember 911? I would guess that not only did you NOT know anyone that died on that day but they were all different from you.... they were LEGAL! You know enough to be an illegal but not enough to make any sense.
Never seen 20 to a house? get out more.
Your reasons for validating the illegals is so simplistic it can't work, let's release ALL criminals as long as they promise not to do bad things?????
If you think all the illegals comming here had ANYTHING to do with housing prices, you need to go back to school. I thought the housing price increase had to do with the rise in global temperature!
"If you don't like your neighborhood why don't you move"? Not only does what you say give you away but how you say it, YOU ARE ILLEGAL and trying to make a case. You have given yourself away. PS ( notice the spelling of neighborhood). You spell it like an illegal person would pronounce it.
Porgie, you have more sense than this, stop convincing someone here illegally that they're wrong. They will always be right in their own minds, so will BilLaden.
I'm with you, good luck.
Debbie, so very true...does not affect me, and I get my grass cut cheaply and my home cleaned cheaply, so WHAT DO I CARE.
Watch the news, it isn't millions of poor families with children coming over for a better life....
How many illegals would abuse our laws? look around. How many trample our flag & constitution, ignore our immigration laws, zoning laws, tax laws, motor vehicle laws not to mention abuse our health, education & legal system. The drug lords and gangs will have more business than they know what to do with.
If Americans don't wake up we will take the path of the American Indians.
