A couple of comments: in at least one place you misspelled republican - I don't know if you can fix it since I don't know how you tube works. And I think you could tighten it up and make it somewhat shorter. I think you can do that without altering the impact. You were the one who said that 90 seconds is a very long clip on you tube.
I think you should mark this as mature because it is so graphic in a couple of spots.
It is very powerful but after watching it, I come to the conclusion that these young men and women are the very reason we cannot cut and run. It makes a mockery of the suffering and tragedy to just give up.
Interesting how two people can come to such diametrically opposite conclusions on the same clip. Although if you ever watch that vile O'Reilly read his mail, you will see people berating him for being too liberal, too nasty, too ignorant and people will praise him for being very conservative, brilliant and too nice - the scary thing is that they all saw the same segment.
How much more SACRIFICE do your recommend these young men and women make before we say it is enough? We already have soldiers that are on their 3rd and 4th tours over there, have soldiers that made it through their first two tours, and got killed on the third. Should we wait for a change in course until there are 5,000 dead, or would you prefer we continue down Bush's flawed path till say 10,000 troops are dead? I'm just curious here to know what you see as the turning point where our administration admits to a GRAVE MISTAKE in judgement?
Your attitude toward Rosa was uncalled for.As the producer of this so-called political work of crap, you could at least warn of graphic content. I couldn't stand to watch more than 30 seconds of your total dishonor for those who have died in this war. I rate you right up there with John Kerry. It's people like you who give terrorist and Muslim extremists the drive to kill. You are playing right into their hands.
I think this war is necessary to protect US from more attacks like those on 9/11. I believe that if we don't annihilate them where they are, we will face many more devastating attacks. According to the FBI analysis of the evidence in the plot to blow up aircraft in mid air, the idea was not to blow the planes up over the ocean but to fly them over the US and detonate them over major cities to kills thousands more on the ground. Pulling out will only make the extremists more extreme because they will think they have us on the run. They DESPISE weakness. This is not a war we can lose.
Maliki is fast becoming a major problem. When the US soldier was kidnapped, he prevent our troops from taking some of the steps necessary to find him quickly. Honestly, I have no idea what to do about him. He is the leader of Iraq and he has the right to say no to our operations. On the other hand, we can't do our jobs if he does that. Very tricky problem.
Nanci....as I have said before, we have two real options. First one is to basically pull back and redeploy as a strategic fast response force to back up the Iraqi forces, and for the most part leave them on their own. Second option, is to open back up a war footing, and pump another 300,000 troops into Iraq. Problem is, that second option will not work unless we bring back the draft....do you really see that happening? Bush made the same mistake his father made....he let up before he had a full outright surrender of enemy forces, and now we are stuck in a police action.
Elf...those numbers are misleading, as you would have to compare apples to apples. Example...in Vietnam, we were only able to save the lives of 1 out of every 8 soldiers seriously injured in the field. In todays Iraq War, we are saving 7 out of 8 soldiers serious injured in the field...which is why we have such a high number of seriously injured soldiers returning home with missing limbs, multiple amputees. If you convert the numbers, right now we would be looking at over 16,000 dead if the loss ratios were what they were in Vietnam.

This is an important work. It will be passed on.
Ivan -- you're so far out of line, you're off the base.
As a UDT/Seal from Vietnam, I'll tell you right now, I don't want you anywhere near my team!
We are fighting a politically correct war with a politically incorrect enemy. I blame the far-left in this country for that fact. I do not expect most of you to understand geo-political politics, however, it is in everyone's best interest (mostly the minority ethnic groups that will be slaughtered if we leave) to stay in Iraq and restore sovereignty. Conversely, I disapprove of how this war is being fought and believe that we should provide our military with WHAT EVER MEANS NESSICERY to; A) complete the mission, and B) do so with the least number to US casualties.
They'll never get it from the Dems. They usually vote against everything the military wants and the first thing they're going to do is cut the money for the war. Think we're hated by other countries now? If we cut and run we'll be the laughing stock of the world and sitting ducks for other countries to attack because we have no stomach for finishing the job. It's just going to bolster them. They'll think we're a weak nation. And Lord knows what's going to happen to the Iraqi civilians they say that they care so much about. Things are already bad enough and I don't see it getting better if we leave now.
I sometimes wonder if the Dems really care about our dead and wounded troops or if they're just using them to further their agenda. I also sometimes wonder if some of this isn't fueled by their pure hatred of Bush. Will our troops and their families' sacrifices be in vain if we pull out? Don't the majority of them want to see us finish the job? I've seen and heard of our brave wonderful soldiers losing limbs and being severely wounded and yet wanting to go back to duty. Their bravery brings tears to my eyes. They're the ones putting it all on the line. Shouldn't we listen to them?
Porgie- "How much more SACRIFICE do your recommend"
When we are all willing to wear berkas and pray 5 times a day is when the sacrifice will stop.
There's and old adage, we broke it, now we have to fix it...if a mechanic screws up my car, I'm going to get it fixed, but I'll not let the mechanic who SCREWED UP THE JOB do the work...it's commonsense.
You're absolutely right, it's not about me. It's not about the Republicans; the Democrats; or even Independents. What it is about is the tens of thousands of Iraqi's that have died; it's about the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's that have been maimed; it about the millions of Iraqi's that don't want our asses there anymore. Sure, there are some, but by all the independent polls it a great majority that want us to leave.
Even with all that... do you really want to know what it's about for me and a majority of Americans??? Probably not, but I'm going to tell you anyway. It's about the nearly 2800 combat soldiers that have died; it's about the over ten thousand of my brothers and sisters that have lost limbs, eyes, hearing, the ability to tale a crap other than in a bag; it's about all their children that will either not have their fathers or mothers... or if they do, chances are they will never be the same mom or dad that left them before the war either physically and/or mentally. All this for a war in Iraq that didn't need to happen in the first place. All this for a war in Iraq that has been completely mismanaged in it's reconstruction so Bush & Co. can reward their political cronies.
So yeah, maybe I'm not thinking about the big picture. The picture of letting Afghanistan go down the toilet so we could wage a war in Iraq. The picture of the growing influence of terrorism in the world so we could wage war in Iraq. The picture that my grandkids will still be paying for this illgotten war... maybe in blood as well as treasure.
You said, "learn to think BIG and you will realize whose lives this war will change forever", I already have and I'm thinking about whose lives this war has ALREADY changed, and I'm not altogether thinking it was worth it.
Peace
You're good with the video piece, but I wish you'd develop a talent for even-handedness. This was pure propaganda - even the music had a bitter flavor to it.
