Here in New York's 19th Congressional District, we have a very contentious and close race for the 19th Congressional seat currently held by Tom DeLay Republican and George Bush rubberstamp Sue Kelly. She's steadfastly REFUSED to participate in and open and fair debate of the issues with John Hall, the Democratic contender. She's run away from reporters, rather than answer hard questions, refused to post her appearance schedule for the voters in the district, and has even taken to NOT ANSWERING HER PHONE during the recent Foley Gate Scandal. (She was chairperson of the Page Board from 1999-2001.)
I've not been active here for a couple days, as I have been working on some video's for the youtube site, and putting up a new blog, all aimed squarely at defeating Sue Kelly. To often in today's political game, we as citizens believe we cannot effect politics. The truth is, we can, but it takes time and effort. There is a LOT at stake in this election, we need a change in our nation's direction, and I would encourage all of you to get involved in the last two weeks of the election.
For those that would like to take a look at my video's, or my new blog effort, have posted the links below.

The only debate....if you want to call it that, was in Warwick...billed more as a meet the candidates night, and further with the discussion (limited by her) of only ag questions. (Ag families make up less than five percent of our population base) There has been no debate on the issues....war, the economy, you name it.
I do think she has a point about LWV - they promote their own agenda while trying to give the appearance of being helpful. But I don't think you should agree to a debate and then back out unless you are in extremis.
