when people concentrate on the page scandal, people are not concentrating on foreign affairs or domestic issues. the democrats' strength right now are iraq, the economy, and foreign affairs, as i see it. and the voters are saying they are in a throw the bums out mood.
going on about the page scandal takes peoples' focus off the things that are the democrats' strength.
re: this race, i would think your best cards are: are you better off than you were in the 1990's, what do you think bush is gonna do about iraq and is that the right thing, those guys have been in congress for years and we still haven't dealt with a lot of problems, and does it make you feel uncomfortable that the rest of the world doesn't like us.
that's what i would do as a campaign manager.
oh, the republicans have a defense but i don't see them playing it. i see them shivering when you mention the democrats and that won't work this time. the voters don't share the republicans' distaste for the democrats by and large.
