All-People Anti-U.S. Struggle Urged
Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- Jang Song Hoe, chairman of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), reportedly released an appeal on Oct. 2 calling upon the youth and students to take the van of the fight against the U.S. and war and against the negotiations on the south Korea-U.S. "Free Trade Agreement." Drawing attention to the scheduled opening of the 4th round of FTA negotiations in Jeju Island on Oct. 23, the appeal said the United States was working desperately to conclude the agreement at whatever cost, isolate and stifle the north and ignite a war on the Korean Peninsula, come what may.
It called on all the Koreans to charge ahead vigorously toward victory, conscious that peace can be won by the struggle against the U.S. and war.
It urged the youth and students to get well ready for the grand battle against the U.S. and thereby shatter the uninterrupted anti-north offensive of the U.S. and, for the present, stage an extensive struggle to thwart the FTA negotiations so that the November general turnout of the people can be turned into a general turnout against the U.S.

They also oppose the presence of our troops there...at last count around 50,000.
It is time for us to get out of there, and let the chips fall where they may on the Korean peninsula. That's what the people there apparently want. They may not like the result, but that's their problem.
but i think also that this has made north korea more unstable. his people are starving. when the only hope that remains is to get away, to be free, then north korea will be in real trouble. who will possess the nukes then?
will there be an accident?
Wow...blows my mind that they think the Korean War happened yesterday. There has been no healing - only a festering hatred of us......sets the stage for more terrorism....
From my perspective, very little.
Our policy of outsourcing our national security to China & the 6 party talks (that have not happened in over a year) is a disater.
Bert, you are right....why defend such ungrateful people???....Just like our "noble cause" in Iraq where polls say high percentages of these good folk want the "liberators" gone, or dead. Here we go again...
Should we go back to the 1 on 1 talks like the Clinton administration? We know how good that aggreement worked.
What's your solution to the problem?
And I don't think that the South has much to gain from backing our culture. One little nuke would do a lot of damage to the whole region.
I truly believe that this is cultural and beyond what we would consider.
Asia is a powder keg that could explode at any moment, and World War Three could possiibly be the result.
Our current administration wants for us to beleive that terrorists are our greatest threat, and they are no doulbt a great threat to our country indeed, but World War Three will probably be started in Asia, just a thought.
Even though I disagree with you on most points, this is a very good article as well as a very important topic. I gave you a 10 on this one.
I'm very disappointed that there are only 13 comments on this article. This is just more proof tha most Americans aren't paying attention to what is happening on the global scale.
