GEE, yet another SCANDAL in the Republican Party...they just keep on coming! It seems that Senator Arlen Specter has now publically admitted that his Aide is under investigation by the FBI for helping her Lobbyist husband get government contracts for his clients....of course, as you might expect, Arlen Specter maintains HE HIMSELF has NOT BROKEN ANY ETHICS RULES!
USA Today first reported in February that Specter helped direct $48.7 million in Pentagon spending over the past five years to clients of the staff member's lobbyist husband, Michael Herson. Specter has said the institutions that ultimately got the money were represented by people not associated with Herson. He added that he was never lobbied by Herson or his firm.
He had no NEED TO SPEAK with Michael Herson, the guys wife could go have a chat with Arlen any time she wanted....who knows, she might have even given him (Specter) some PILLOW TIME to get the right reaction out of him.

but i like arlen specter more than other republican politicians.
unless the fbi unearths quid pro quo on specter, he's probably clean. now the aide could have a conflict of interest.
we'll see what happens.
He sounds to me a man of integrity.
He opposed George Bush several times & was a link of dialogue with the democratic party.
I think he kept the judicial balance in the government to some extent.
I certainly hope HE will be cleared from this allegation, & I wish him good health & luck fighting Hodgkin's Disease.
But I won't be surprised if one of his aides ( a republican) is under investigation like some "people" who hunt any opportunity to profit.
