THE TITLE IS SUPPOSED TO SHOCK.
It was never intended to be subtle.
There are several proposals around concerning Medical insurance and paying providers for care. ONE is the public option, and it will probably have to be paid for with tax revenue. WE ARE RUNNING A DEFICIT. If we are to pay for this plan, and not increase the deficit, A TAX HAS TO BE IMPOSED. It's a no brainer.

Those of us who are STRONGLY in favor of a public option need to PUT OUR MONEY WHERE OUR MOUTHS ARE. Or, we can STFU and leave the Public Option to either rising deficits forever, putting off a tax increase till the pain is to great to tolerate or putting the tax into the statute NOW. There is one other alternative, and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE to the supporters of a Public Option or Single Payer plan. That alternative is NO appreciable change in the way uninsured Americans are treated.

The government takes donations please go ahead and donate more of your own money so the government doesn't have to take more money from those who oppose his (Obama's) plan.
Set up a special fund to pay for those who do not have health care coverage and all of you who think it is a worthy idea send in your money!
They don't want to spend their own money, they want to spend everybody elses money to achieve their desires.
NO more Spending! Appeal the pork spending already voted for! Cut all the waste and fraud everywhere! Stop spending like jold time monarchs.
THEN set up a fund for those who don't already qualify for government health with the money saved.
Insurance is Private Enterprise Taxation. When you or your employer pays a premium to an insurance company a portion of that money is used to pay for medical care. YOURS or mine, depending on which of us is in need of a doctor's care. Another part of that premium payment goes to an agent who "serves" the account by taking care of paperwork on your payments to the company. Another part goes to a claims department that pays bills submitted by doctors and hospitals who have treated people insured by the company you pay premiums to. Another portion goes to the stockholders in the company in the form of dividends and still another portion goes to pay the wages of managers, assistant managers, general managers, the accounting department and the sales department and the advertising department, and the advertising media that carry the ads, and on and on. YOU willingly pay for the advertisments that make it possible for me to watch "Sex in the City" on network TV...by paying for health insurance. THANK YOU.
People are spoiled, think they have to have the latest and greatest and most expensive whatever.
The 52" t.v.s, run about $3,000. That's almost one whole year of my insurance premium for a 62 year old female. Younger people and males can get cheaper premiums.
Yes, I am aware that not only my taxes, but what I am charged for medical services pays for the irresponsible. Just as I pay more at retail stoes for shoplifters.
And that is cheap compared to the cost of a good solid colon cancer. You have health insurance. But you better not need to use it for a catastrophe.
YOU are also paying for 70% of the cost of the lung cancer that lifelong smoker insured by your insurance company is dying of. Well you and a few thousand other kind folk who are not getting any help from the roughly 40 million uninsured, or those folks who are insured by other companies.
Somebody owes you big time.
