Excuse Me, Uhm, EXCUSE ME!!

Excuse me Mr. Obama!  But, today you lauded the people you supposedly brought together to announce the new CAFE standards that the auto makers will be forced to produce by the year 2016.  Excuse me, but I view that as being dictatorial, totalitarian, and downright hurtful of our nation in the long run.  I don't buy into the global warming or climate change argument that humankind is the cause of changes in our seasons or temperatures.  So, where will that leave most of us who drive for a living in the future with all of these new, smaller, more politically correct cars that won't carry squat?  It will leave us to patch and repair our older clunkers, provided we won't be taxed to hell and back because they don't get the gas mileage, or reduce the carbon emissions the newer tin cans do. 

Also, what will you do Mr. Obama when the tax revenues fall because of lower consumption of gasoline at the pumps?  Of course you say that we will be saving more money at the pumps, but really, do you think most of us will buy into that nonsense?  Of course not!  We know for a fact that the drop of consumption will only lead to further taxation at the pumps so the state and federal agencies will continue to provide the services the taxes bring in for them.  The bottom line, Mr. Obama, is that the price of gas will climb to the same if not higher prices we saw last summer, and the cost of those new tin cans will climb because it isn't cheap to modify and change the auto industry without raising the price of the cars.  Higher prices, smaller cars, less personal choice is what you advocate in all of this. 

While you do the pompous speeches telling us that this will lead to a better world, I don't buy it.  It will hurt our nation, our people in the long run.  Why don't you admit it now and face the music instead of standing behind the curtain and trying to pitch your story like all is great.  It isn't.  People will lose more jobs, the economy will falter even more than it does now, and our nation will be at risk of attack even more than ever.  Why don't you see that Mr. Obama?  We can, and we don't make even a drop of what you make on your book revenues, your salary and retirement from being President, and then all of the speaking tours you will no doubt go on after you leave office.  It's just called common sense, I suppose you don't have any. 

When the people begin to see what you are doing, and they will, I can guarantee it when it comes to their pocketbooks, you will cease to be popular.  You will be only a one-term president Mr. Obama.  But, perhaps the Democrat party will be hurt so badly by your policies, that we will begin to see a renewed party that is for personal freedom once again, with a smaller government that allows for private sector growth.  Because you see Mr. Obama, a large government with workers who produce nothing can only fail because it cannot be sustained.  Again, just common sense.  Try it.
