For some reason, a lot of people are mesmerized by Obama. I don't get it. I think he lacks experience and knowledge and he acts rashly about things that are going to impact our country for a long time. He's said himself that he's not focused on being re-elected. He has an agenda that's all his own and I've never seen someone who cares so little about the long term effects of his actions. It's really scary to me.

The thing is that all these people who are so mesmerized by him now are the very people who are going to be most hurt by the decisions he's making and the actions he is taking right now. They are going to find out that their hero is nothing more than a sham.

He has a cult following, no question about it.

And they asked the same question about the RADICAL BUSH ADMINISTRATION!! No matter who is in power someone will have a problem.

Leah C., you will think twice about calling Bush a radical when Obama is through with us. The biggest difference between Bush and Obama is this: Bush was willing to commit our troops to Iraq and Afghanistan to bring freedom to those people taking it out of the hands of radicals. Obama is bringing radical government into our lives and taking our freedoms away with more taxation and regulation. Try going to HeritageFoundation.com and read a little bit. Again, what will it take before those who are mesmerized by the man wake up to reality and see what is being taken from them by the bigger government he's establishing for all of his socialist programs? When and if you do wake up, it may be too late to regain what has been lost.

Well it just might take being insulted, abused and ignored for 8 years like it took for the American voters to wake up and boot out the GOP.

So APE you are secure in your job, if you have one? You are secure in your finances enough to pay for the higher power bills when they soar because your power company is taxed by the government for exceding carbon emissions? You are secure knowing that our defense system is going to be cut with N. Korea, Iran, China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela becoming allies? Again, what will it take before the Obamamorons wake up and smell the burning coffee?

Box the ears of the progressives in charge of the Democratic party?

Paint with a broad brush the centrist regulation policies of this administration?

I am on Social Security since 2006 and ya know, I wasn't prepared to exhaust my small nest egg by paying the inflated property taxes, high heating fuel costs, rising grocery costs or the 4.00 a gallon gas prices all last year. I also had never in my 40 working years been without a JOB yet when my part time workplace closed LAST year in May, also throwing 2 other members of my family out of work incidentally, I wasn't 'prepared' for none of us being able to find jobs since then!
Did I miss your earlier posts of concern somehow or has your attention been drawn to my plight just since Jan 20th??

APE, I hope you won't exhaust your SSI on higher gas prices, higher home heating and cooling prices, higher grocery prices and most importantly, higher medical costs. But, it would be prudent to look to who has been the majority party in Congress since 2006 and perhaps there you could find some culpability for your loss of jobs and higher fuel costs. It will only get worse with all of the Democrats working together that will be loss of individual freedom and that is what should be stopped at all costs. I'm going to the Tax Day Tea Party to voice my dislike of what they are doing in Washington which is spending three times what Bush did in all of his eight years in less than three months under Obama. If you agree, perhaps you will attend a Tea Party too. I hope so. We're all Americans and this administration isn't what our founding fathers had in mind for the government to do. That's the bottom line.

It is doubtless ironic that we have borrowed this money from other countries, but we are protesting something that hasn't happened yet. Namely that income taxes have gone up in nearly a decade.

Barbara........You obviously don't know Soc Sec and SSI are very different things but then again you have little worry about EVER having to sustain yourself on either one. You seem to be quite comfortable with nice house, health insurance, retirement plan, frequent vacations and recent purchases....how nice for you. Too bad there is no compassion for those not quite so comfortable or secure that their only worry is about how much they themselves may lose............ while others have nothing! Enjoy your silly little Tea Party tho........I am sure you will feel you have added a lot to solving the problems. Pick up a copy of the Enquirer too....might be more news about VP Biden's botox to worry about. (sigh)

Sheesh. I figured you would assume that SSI would be the income people get on disability. I just shortened it to say Social Security Income in your case, but that went over your head I guess. That's ok. And, yes, we are comfortable in our place, but that isn't to say that we didn't work for it. Both my husband and myself have little more than a high school education. So, while we do feel sorry for those who are having a tough time of it, we aren't feeling sorry for those who have frivolously spent with little regard to what they can afford. We've been responsible with our lives and we wish the government would be responsible as well. We need to get back to taking responsibility for ourselves and not expecting the government to reward us for the lack thereof. That is wrong and it's wrong for the new president to reward those who haven't the initiative to better themselves. The spending is out of control and that again, is why we are attending the Tea Party. I speak out because of what our children are losing which seems to be no consequence to you. We all will lose, my question is how much do we have to lose before we all take action and say no?

LOL with you!! I know, I take responsibility for doing that knowing what I was thinking and assuming you would too. My fault. But, the bottom line is how far do we want this government to go in spending too much, taxing too high, and crossing the line when it comes to stepping into our nation's businesses. I personally don't believe that a social form of government will work for the long haul especially when it comes to when my grandchildren are adults. It's time for our government to step back, shrink, and allow us as citizens to become more fiscally responsible for ourselves. With more money in our paychecks, with less money being TAKEN by the government to spend as they wish, we would be able to retire with our OWN income that WE have saved and invested. That is the message I want to get to Congress. That is why I am attending the Tax Day Tea Party. It's time we speak up and let them know enough is enough. It's time to stop the madness in Washington, D.C.

This country flourished on the sweat of the middle class and our industries............. multi generational union jobs and careers that supported our towns and cities...........steel, coal, automobiles, aircraft workers, ship builders and railway workers. We traded it all for cheap imported crap that adds nothing except to fill out landfills with obsolete junk and eliminated any hope of a true middle class. Even the uniforms our Military wear and the flags we fly are made by the lowest bidder outside our country. You are a bit late with your messages to DC..........but as long as it makes you feel good..........go for it!

I think we have to do something about it. I know that after WWII we were inundated with stuff that was "Made in Japan". I know you remember that. It was about bringing Japan into the century and giving them the opportunity to make wealth in their own right for their people. Yeah, we've always had companies look for the cheapest labor, that's why they've gone overseas. Our unions have killed off a lot of jobs because of the high wage they demand. I'm sorry, but $70 bucks an hour for an automaker on the production line is a bit excessive in my opinion. I believe we should have the environment to go out and make ourselves a living without having to lean on the government. I see it as a one-sided picture. Democrats are paying off the union leadership for their support in buying their elections and we will see more unions form in this country thus raising everyone's grocery bill and whatever else they manufacture. So, in the future, we could see a dozen eggs cost five dollars. How would you feel about that one?

We can't solve theses problems until we restore the republic and with it Federalism.
This is because Liberty is obtained and retained only thou competition, not monopolies (such as the Central Federal Government).

To do that we must uses those tools our founding fathers prudently provided us, our State Government's Constitutional and piratical tools to tear down the Federal government back into its original very limited non-controlling status.

There are many ways in which our States can do this, they include manipulating the courts by challenging federal authority such as thou legislation intended to produce legal challenges to legislation to bring about down right nullification.

By far the biggest and most powerful hammer that exist in the United States, is a threat to call a Constitutional convention(only need 34 state legislators) with such a threat the states can demand that congress passes an amendment to repeal the 14th, 16th, and 17th amendments, or they will call a convention and do it themselves.

Once we remove hoses amendments the Federal Government will loses the source of the vast majority of its power and the death nail of federalism will have been undone.

The Federal Government should then shrink to a small faction of what it is now, Our state governments will then be free to fill the void, and they will be able to do so much more safely and accountably than the Federal government ever can or would given its corrupting ability to hold individuals and businesses captive thou it’s ability to control of immigration and trade.

We will be able to much more effetely keep the new vast bulk of the government now held in the State governments far more in check due to our more significant vote with the ballot in addition to the even more critical ability to leave a corrupt and abusive state for a freer one thus denying them the corrupting ability to exploit us to secure their own power from the rest of the population.

This is how we win, the TEA party movement must join forces with the States rights movement, because only together can the states get enough support to reclaim their rights and restore federalism (which is inheritor in their own power state-based interest)

We cannot expect to win this fight thou federal elections, because federal politicians are disinclined to give up power like all politicians. We need to aid their natural competition to take that power from them!
