SO Angry Right Now - Dumb Doctor Rant.

First off, I clearly realize doctors cannot be dumb as a rule, but everyone  I've spoke to on this agrees that THIS one was making a very bad choice.

So, my husband is sick. He's BEEN sick for over a week with fever, chills, laid up in bed most of this time. Along with it is an annoying unrelenting cough that does not respond to Nyquill, tea with honey, water or, well, anything at all.

So, with that having been said, Clint goes to make a Doctor appointment. Clint, who NEVER goes to the Doctor, and has not been there in SIX YEARS. So you know it's bad when he does that.

The doctor looks him over, says you have a cold, go home let it run it's course and prescribes nothing at all. Nothing.

Well, when I heard that I was like what? Not even an antibiotic?

So, today he's still sick and still coughing every minute, and when I say every minute I DO mean EVERY minute - or at least at night. During the day it's pretty quiet, you know, when no one is trying to sleep. Figures, LOL.

I'm NOT mad at Clint. He's doing all he can to make it so we can sleep, but nothing is stopping the cough for more than an hour - if that. So, with that said, I've gotten 4 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours.

Today is the day I've been looking forward to since NOVEMBER, and I'm barely able to stand up. :( I'm not happy.

I finally demanded that Clint demand to get something ANYTHING to treat this thing he has. We believe it's a mutant strain of a "cold" because this thing is not relenting. Right now Gideon and I have not had more than a cough and some congestion. We are LUCKY, but the more nights we go without sleep, the more nights we are exposed to it  the less likely we are to get it. If Gideon gets it this will keep him out of school for weeks. This is NOT GOOD.

So, Clint has an appointment today in a couple hours. He told them at my request they ALREADY sent him home with NOTHING and that he needs SOMETHING today. That's TWO doctor visits to do what ONE visit could have done, because, you know, we are RICH enough that we can afford TWO visits just to get him something to alleviate the cough and maybe fever, too.

Do you or anyone you know have this "monster cold"? If so did you get turned away without anything from your doctor as well?

Clint called a chiropractor earlier this week who said there's something going around. It lasts 14 days or more and Doctors are sending them home empty-handed.

Something is very wrong here. *sigh*
