Pelosi Lied About Being "Steamrolled"...

On the news today Nancy Pelosi claimed the Democrats were steamrolled into supporting the bill by the Republicans. What???? She's delusional. If you wish to read about the pork that was added in to the bill, notice who the ones who wanted the pork are affiliated with which party. Democrats, Senators from Illinois, Senators from Washington, and others were to blame for the additional pork that we, the taxpayers are going to have to pay for. This is just another lie perpetrated by Pelosi to make those who are gullible enough blame the Republicans for the bill. I am by no means a Pelosi fan, but my understanding is that the Bailout Bill was actually attached to the pork, and not the other way around. Because the House didn't pass the bill, the Senate had to attach it to an existing bill of theirs in order to vote on it. I wish it could have been voted on as a stand-alone bill though, because I'm not thrilled about all the other things that were passed on the bailout's coat tails.

Yeah, it was Bush who wanted a "line item veto" and never got it. That's a pity.

All I have to say is there is something FISHY about the fact that one of pork topics that was added to it had to do with a FOREIGN company that supplies a lot of tuna and there is a Pelosi connection in that one.

The bailout is a disgrace and it really angered me. Because it passed, I am just hoping it does work out like they want it to but I just think it is just throwing more money into a system that is corrupt and that's not good. If it is so corrupt, like these politicians and some in the media are saying it is, then it need to fall. I am feel bad that regular people are going to get hurt. And because of that, that is why I really believe that there should be an investigation done, have them prosecuted and when found guilty, they need be thrown in prison.

I agree with you Steph. Investigations need to be done, by people other than those who put us in this position, namely Dodd, Pelosi, Franks, Obama just to name a few. They fought the reforms the Republicans wanted to address for years. If a bill won't come out of committee to be voted on, it won't have a chance. The dems have blocked this for at least two years now, while Republicans have pushed to get it through and failed. What I can't understand is why people are so willing to send back to Washington those Democrats that got us to this point to begin with. Is it just mass insanity?
