I don't know about other people but I am sick of tired of being a "good customer" and getting kicked in the teeth. I pay my bills on time, most of my bills have a balance due me, that is because I live month to month on disability. I have to make sure if a sudden expense comes up that my standard living bills are paid each month.
I have been a customer of Bell South Mobility/Cingular/AT&T for over thirteen years. Trying to get anything out of this huge company that just about twenty - twenty five years ago had to split up due to monopoly charges has been like pulling teeth. This company started life as AT&T, then had to split into "baby bells". Most people will not remember this, unfortunately my father worked for them for 43 years before finally retiring. They didn't want to be fair with him either, so he stuck it out and they caved finally.
I called last week because I found out over a month ago I have had service with them for the past year with no contract. Meaning I could have shut down service at anytime with no charges. I didn't, I have carried service many years with them with no contracts.
The reason I called was to upgrade my phone. I was told of course I could with a two year contract and pay for new phone and activation fees. Needless to say, I said no. The person I spoke to kept up their typical sales garbage, I requested to speak to a supervisor. After being put on hold for close to 15 minutes the person returns, states the supervisor is in a meeting and they will have them call me back. I haven't had my phone ring yet.
I will call again today. I will be persistent. They will give me some sort of incentive to stay with them or I go with another cell phone company. At least four other companies will give me a nice phone with a two year contract. I haven't found the "we have more towers than any other company" to be a working slogan. They own them, they don't all work...lol. I told by service one day many of the towers in my area are not working at all times. Go figure.
Thanks for reading, I know this was long and ranting.

Customer service is lacking and employee morale is down.
I would call back and complain hopefully you get someone who cares.
Good luck!
