As one of the few people willing to state publicly that I like Pres. Bush, I enjoy a special relationship with him. So when I was appointed as Minister of Propaganda of the Non-Elitist slate on Gather, he gave me a call to congratulate me.
Bush: Great job on the appointment, Chris!
Me: Thank you, sir.
Bush: Say, can I do anything to help you out? Would you like me to endorse Shelley, and the Non-Elitists for Gather President?
Me: Actually, sir, most of the people on Gather can't stand you. I mean, they really hate your guts. Could you endorse our opponents, the Elitists?
Bush: I guess so, but I don't like elitists. They remind me of that (expletive deleted) Clymer guy from the NY Times.
Cheney (in background): Big time!
Me: Ask Karl what he thinks, and he'll agree with me, I'm sure.
Bush: Okay, then, I'll do that. You can expect it later this week.
Me: Thank you, sir.
