So was triple points beneficial in the end?

To be honest, I was already on cash. I had no goal set. What I made off the deal was normal. Now, I did make some new connections. I read some interesting articles. Laughed a few times and rolled my eyes even more. I've been receiving more personal messages in my Gather inbox, not the dreaded spam. That's been a nice benefit.

All in all the Triple points might have been nice for those reaching a goal. I was just here, killing time between phone calls, emails and work I should of been doing. Very normal and typical. I hope I did help someone reach their goal.

I basically did what I normally do. I did post a few things that I may not have otherwise. And I am glad I did. Reading some of the comments made when I signed in tonight made me smile. And I sure needed that after the night I had. All it was a pretty good week. ( and I agree with what Vicky said too! )

I've been on Cash since my first full month. I made many connections, and I wrote a few more articles than usual, I guess, and I've been commenting. I think I observed more cash than usual, but I haven't been doing the same things that I normally do.

I just started commenting and posting about a week ago so it did not do me any good when it comes to reaching cash. I could of stayed on it 24/7 for that week and I'm still not sure I would have made it. Maybe next month :-)

I wouldn't know since I just joined. I didn't reach any specific goal because of extra points. Do you mean people here aren't always this friendly? :)

Well Bobbi, I guess you will soon find out if people have been behaving differently because of the points. Keep at it Marvel, wow you sure do put up lots of pictures, I am sure that you must have an unlimited supply of them so perhaps you need to look for more groups to boost your points possibility. Hope Isabella sleeps well.. I am glad Jennifer got a smile and Vicky got some points and Sara had some laughs!!

I basically did what I always do...write, read, rate and comment...publishing my usual one or two articles each day. I hit the magic 3,000 point mark after my first 28 days writing on Gather; my first 28 days writing anywhere. I did add some extra images, but only because my hometown is the official birthplace of Memorial Day and I was promoting their cause. Now, it's back to business as usual with "Triple Points" coming to an end. I really can't complain as I did manage to pick up almost 2,500 points over the course of the past week.

I didn't even know anything about points until about 2-3 weeks after I joined. They still didn't mean anything to me. All of a sudden there was a whirl of chat about triple points. That's when I first figured them out and what they were for.
I didn't come anywhere near 3000 nor did I make a 'goal'. Just kept doing what I wanted.
I was disappointed in the number of connects and yet no comments (I only had pics, no articles, so thought that would be easy for people). So I wrote to everyone, now I'm getting some nice response. Now I'm getting happy and it has nothing to do with points. Just not being ignored.

I've been a member for awhile, but I guess the triple points gave me incentive to post many more images than normal, and joined more groups. I even posted my first two articles. In getting me more involved in Gather I guess it helped then. In helping me get more free time..definitely not! lol C):-)

Don't know yet. Very close with 10 minutes to go but don't think I will quite make the 3000 to much other things I had to do besides sit and comment and write and all.

I was already on cash too, so I didn't really have a goal in mind. I didn't change anything that I normally do - I've always been huge on commenting and I've always posted at least 1 image a day, so yeah... business as normal, but with 3 times the cash increase. Nice!

I wasn't here that much so I didn't notice anything, I was busy with life. But I've been on cash since I started actually writing articles on here, about a month after that as for the first month after I'd joined, I wasn't on here at all. If you just write your articles as you usually would, you'll be on the cash program if you want to, in about a month or so. Though nobody has ever actually been able to explain how gather does their cash or points, so it's anybodies guess!

It actually brought me back to Gather for a couple days, lol. I wasn't a huge gather-aholic and after a couple weeks of being here, I realized that Gather wasn't really worth my time when I could spend the time at other places that I enjoyed more. When I got the email from Gather saying they were having triple points, I thought "meh, what the heck, I can pop back over and see if it's worth it." Of course, in the end, I didn't really participate much and I didn't get many points, but it's kept Gather fresh on my mind and given me a few new ideas about how I can make it a more regular part of my routine. In that sense, Gather definitely came out on top in a lot of ways by offering this.

I sometimes write several articles in a day anyway, and because my stuff can be edgy I don't make lots in points. What I'm in for is growth, and I'm happy with the way that's going.
In terms of getting more points? Well, the response times for the several occasions when I logged on were extremely slow or even stopped. Felt for the most part like gather glitch time....So I would have posted more but it wasn't happening. See, I really like the Home Depot gift cards because I do a lot of gardening and have fun spending writing-pay for gardening stuff.

Well, I sure did enjoy triple points week, as I was attempting to reach the 3000 this months. I reached my goals, found lots of great connections. I do not know, if I learned much more than usual here at Gather, as a lot of the extra work seemed to be put together a bit faster than usual, but some people really did take the triple points and turned them into great work. I sure would not mind, if Gather did this once again. What about you David, was it all bad?

I am impressed by the variety of responses. It is interesting to note the responses from a number of people who so easily have 3000 points per month and get paid. They make it seem like write a few articles and make a few comments and presto chango you are in the pay club. Yet others seem to describe the point gathering aspect as a slow and confusing system. I have looked at several articles trying to explain the points and the value of the cash (once you get past 3000). The bottom line seems to be that it does take more hours, more connections, more articles, more comments, etc, than can be done by a casual user of Gather in order to be in the pay bracket. The backlash is that you cannot possibly belong to a hundred groups and have a hundred contacts and be able to receive notices from all of those when they publish anything (mailbox crash with so many e-mails). Nor can you be courteous and review articles by everyone that comments on your work and leave meaningful discourse and also come up with new ideas UNLESS you want to spent many hours per day. But for those who just want to have fun and connect, Gather seems to offer a wide variety of options. SO it is nice for Gather to try and encouage folks periodically to check it out.

It would be even nicer if they would quit talking about and start DOING something about those of us for whom points are totally useless

Amazing to think that there are people who've reached 3000 points in less than a month! I try to write interesting articles, and endeavor also, to leave useful commentary. Still... I havent the time necessary to write more than two-three times a week, or read and comment on more than three of four articles when I sign in.
I guess it's a good thing I'm not here for the finacial perks.( At the rate I'm going , I won't reach 3000 points ..for months) I just don't seem to generate any interest in what I write...and very few of the people I give comments, return the favor. So be it.
Double triple quadruple...points...not an issue for me. I'm more interested in sharing, networking and learning. If that doesnt materialize, I'll wander elsewhere I suppose...but with all the voices here...I imagine that eventually, I'll find a niche.

I didn't earn very many points, but at least I got to read a lot of interesting articles. I was here night and day. My family was rready to kill me. Still it was fun.
