I am sure I am not the only woman or person who has been contacted by a man or woman about wanting to get to know you. In your third chat session they profess their love for you, they cannot live without you, they want to marry you. (No I was not born yesterday or even at night).
Of course these people never have a spouse, it died in a car wreck (house fire, airplane crash, disease or something), oh yes, let us not forget their children. They died at the same time....lol.
By the fourth chat they tell you they are working in the UK, or Africa, or somewhere other than the United States. But they do own property here, they are coming back they promise.
Alas, their client, employer, boss, whatever has paid them in United States Postal money orders but they cannot get them cashed over there. Would you please cash them and wire them the money as soon as possible?
Well I was raised crazy, not stupid. I decided to play along and see just how far one of them would go.
The person (since I really don't know if it a he or she), tells me they are overnighting money orders to me. Sure enough, FEDEX pulled up to my house on a Saturday and left an envelope. I thought I would wet myself laughing.
I opened the envelope, pulled out two "money orders" in the total amount of $2,900.00, along with the information of where to wire the cash to.
Well, the first thing I did was contact all the sites that this person's user name was listed on and informed them of the situation. Then I printed out every chat, every e-mail, every offline message this person had sent me. I also went to the website this person had contacted me from and printed all the information on them provided there, there were pictures....like those were real HAHA.
I rolled my large behind into my branch of the Post Office where the employees know me well. I proceeded to hoist all this information onto their counter and said this criminal is y'alls. They laughed and said they have never actually had someone bring things in like that but they would definitely start an investigation by whoever the powers that be over the fraud section of the Post Office.
They read some of the chat while I was there and just could not believe that anyone would truly fall for somethin like that. I left it in their hands.
That was almost nine months ago, since that time I have had no less than eighteen more contacts with the same schtick. I usually tell them I am a poor woman with no money, I have 14 children and can't afford to send them anything....lol.
I did notice that all women are not quite as savvy as I am. Dr. Phil did a show on this and had two women who at that date had paid out over $9,000.00 for one and $7,000.00 for the other one. They truly thought these people loved them and would come home soon and take care of them.
Please people pull your heads out the dirt, women as well as men are being taken everyday by these scam artists. The really bad part is they usually prey on people who the least to just give out.
I always say, no matter your religion, or any of your beliefs, what you sow in this world is what you reap. I think I will just let my little dog be the "love of my life" thank you... lol.
