Are the leaders of the Democrat party injuring our troops in Iraq by their rhetoric? Could the rhetoric being displayed by the mainstream media be emboldening those who are trying to begin a civil war in Iraq and bringing more attacks upon our soldiers? Is the Democrat party hurting us as a nation in our fight to bring freedom to the middle east? I'm sure those of you who are against this war will say a resounding "no", but really give this some thought before you post your answer. Think about it. When did things turn badly in Iraq? During the elections of 2004 the Democrats loudly berated our cause and have continued to do so since. For what reason, you may think? I believe to further their own party at any cost. To them, I believe, troop death counts are a victory for their party. I believe the ethics of the Democrat party are damaging our nation as a whole. Who amongst us will follow in their assault?

the administration's military policy has been short-sighted, somewhat ineffective, very inefficient. and that doesn't touch whether we should have gone to iraq in the first place.
how can you say the republicans support our troops when they have not provided a sane veterans health care policy, when they haven't given the troops resources in the war in a timely fashion, when they have abandoned a guy in iraq, when they have required multiple tours of duty and extended tours. the republicans don't even know when they will come home.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt kissed the Jap's asses for years trying to avoid war till he was forced to declare war after the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor where about 2400 Americans were killed and almost 1200 injured along with the loss of much of the Pacific fleet. He was a Democrat.
Dwight David Eisenhower honored our commitment to the South East Asia Treaty Organization and sent troops into Campuchea to help the French but then the French turned tail and left America to sort out the whole mess in what became known as Viet Nam. He was a Republican who honored our treaty commitments.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was elected, he was a Democrat with cajones, and he was ready to turn loose the dogs and do some serious butt kicking and he was ready to take on Fidel's Cuban rabble and the Russians too. The Russians backed away rather than be wiped out in a nuclear war, Fidel calmed down and JFK was assassinated. JFK was the last Democrat who was an honorable man.
Lyndon Baines Johnson couldn't wait to be sworn in as President so he insisted that the swearing in take place less than 2 hours after President Kennedy was shot and he had Jackie Kennedy brought in, still wearing her blood soaked clothes, to stand by his side. He immediately started placing limits on all GI activity and started the Courts Martials of many GIs' who were fighting to stay alive by charging them with various war crimes. Johnson finally restricted the American activity in Viet Nam so much that we had to turn tail and run like hell only to be cussed at and spat upon on our return to the USA. LBJ was another Democrat.
Anything I say about Billy Carter's big brother, James Earl, will be too much because he was the biggest nothing ever to serve as President of the USA. Another Democrat.
Now we're down to Slick Willie Clinton, Rhodes Scholar, sex maniac and world class thief and liar with the morals of an alley cat who had the intel to capture Osama and prevent 9/11 and most of the Middle Eastern bull crap that is taking place now but he was a total wuss too who was following the Democratic leadership's advice of avoiding conflict at any cost. Well, that Democrat has cost and is costing us dearly.
I've been trying to understand the Democratic way of thinking for over 50 years and all that I can see is that they are working their butts off to turn us into a socialist nation.
The Republicans aren't angels either but at least they have the idea that if you work your butt off to earn and save something then you should be able to keep it. That makes them different from the general Democratic thought that we all should share equally like good little boys and girls, even the folks who are totally healthy and just too damned lazy to work should get a share too.
Stephen M, find some news from Reuters or the BBC and you'll find out that the General Officers on the ground in the Middle East are the folks who are calling the shots. Rumsfield is only the gofur between those General Officers and the Executive and Legislative branches of government here at home.
