Five conservative nonprofit organizations that support the Republican Third Reich , including one run by prominent Republican Grover Norquist, " have perpetrated a fraud" on taxpayers by selling their clout to lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Senate investigators said in a report issued yesterday. Imagine that! We are talking a SENATE INVESTIGATION HERE FOLKS!
Non Profit GATE-five groups named are Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform; the Council of Republicans for Environmental Advocacy, which was co-founded by Norquist and Gale Norton before she became secretary of the interior; Citizens Against Government Waste; the National Center for Public Policy Research, a spinoff of the Heritage Foundation; and Toward Tradition, a Seattle-based religious group founded by Rabbi Daniel Lapin.
The report includes previously unreleased e-mails between the now-disgraced lobbyist and officers of the nonprofit groups, showing that Abramoff funneled money from his clients to the groups. In exchange, the groups, among other things, produced ostensibly independent newspaper op-ed columns or news releases that favored the clients' positions. It should be NOTED here, that this is a trick often USED BY BUSH himself, as he used our tax dollars to pay people to write favorably about him, and his programs!

I don't think it's very obvious at all. What's their plan? To raise taxes? Maybe provide free abortions for everyone up to the 9th. month of pregnancy? Free condoms for all middle school children? Marriage for homosexuals, open borders, weakening of our defense, the removal of God from every public place? How about being softer on criminals?
I find it odd that you should call the Republican party SLEAZE BALLS when I see that both parties are pretty corrupt and immoral. I think there's enough scandals to go around in BOTH parties. Clinton was impeached for perjury, Ted Kennedy had Chappaquiddick, Barney Frank and male prostitutes, Sandy Berger stealing documents from the archives, Murtha and abscam, Marion Berry caught with hookers and smoking crack, and the list goes on and on.
Yes, Foley is scum for what he did. But, so far they haven't proved that he actually had sex with any of the pages. Can't say the same thing about Gerry Studds who was censured by the House of Representatives for having sexual relations with a teenage House page. And afterward, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi voted for Gerry Studds to head House committees 5 times!
If Foley were a Democrat they'd be defending him tooth and nail. After all they support the ACLU who defends NAMBLA for free. They're the party for homosexuals, the degenerates in Hollyweird, abortionists, atheists, etc. They even want to grant voting rights to convicts because they're so sure that they'll vote Democratic! And heaven forbid that the African American population should wake up and realize that they're being used by the Democrat party.

I would take another look at both of your assertions. Bush failed to have a policy about North Korea - not the Dems. As far as the short recession - it had more to do with market forces than anything else. Ask anyone who had a 401K about how well the economy is doing the past six years. The 1990s were much better.
Actually, I heard that he was 21 at the time and NOT a page anymore, but we'll go with 18 if you want. The age of consent in D.C. is 16. If the FORMER page was 18, then he's a consenting adult and free to have relations with Foley or any other consenting adult of his choosing. So Foley hasn't broken the law (unless we just don't know it yet) and he hasn't lied about it under oath, like former president Clinton did with Ms. Lewinsky.
I think it's reprehensible to be trolling the pages for dates, but no more so than trolling the interns for BJ's in the oval office. Foley being a perv would not dissuade me from voting for a Republican. As I see it the Democratic party IS the party FOR pervs. In my opinion, some of the people who should be put out of office are the liberal judges who let criminals and sexual predators off with a slap on the wrist.

Fact, a marriage between two people is a LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT, with said license issued by the government at the local level. The marriage is BLESSED by the church in some cases with a formal ceremony before a priest and the congregation of a church. If a church does not wish to bless a gay marriage by granting a church wedding, that is their right. It is not the church's right to deny gays the legal protections and rights contained in a marriage license, which is a GOVERNMENT issued binding contract.
I'm saying a church has the right not to bless a particular marriage, which is all a church does....go check, you may not like it, but it's true.
You gripe should not be with Gays, but with government....that marriage license comes with a WHOLE LOT of legal rights, rights that are not extended a couple under a civil union, which is why Gay's will not accept a civil union.

Marriage is a binding contract between " Man and Wife ", plain and simple. Not " Man and Husband " nor " Woman and Wife ".
People can dispute the " Evolution vs Creation " debate all that they want, but no matter what side of the fence one is on concerning that issue, none of us would be here if our male ancestors were humping each other or our female ancestors were carpet lickers. Further, like it or not, the church does NOT have the right to legally join two people into this legal covenant, but instead can only BLESS said union. I support a Church's right not to bless a union they feel goes against their church's beliefs and teachings, but the Church nor it's members have the right to deny citizens basic human rights and dignity....the arguements you raise now, are some of the very arguements that used to be raised in regards to interacial marriages.
This is where a huge void exists between Red State Republicans, and the Blue State Democrats...there seems to be NO MIDDLE GROUND on both the issue of abortions and gays. I would love to see the day when there are far fewer abortions than we have today, but that being said, I will fight to my last breath for a woman's right to have that choice. I know to many women, including my younger sister who were impregnated through rape, and as a crisis center volunteer, know too many children who were impregnated by family members...their rights to make a choice have to be preserved.
If you read what I write about Gay Rights, I am not asking you to CONDONE their life style, nor am I insisting that the church should be forced to bless their union. What I am saying, is they should have the same identical LEGAL CIVIL RIGHTS as all Americans. A marriage license creates a CIVIL UNION between two people, and as a general rule, a formal church wedding BLESSES that civil union, but it is still a civil union.

It isn't enough to elaborate on real or percieved Republican mistakes. We have to offer something that they don't. For one, we have to offer leadership. So far, I see no Trumans, no FDRs, and no John Kennedys.
We also have to offer a very clear-cut advantage to being a Democrat over being a Republican. Hating W isn't enough..........it never was. That has played itself out. Now what do we offer?
