Tens of thousands of citizens are reporting companies large and small that they suspect are hiring, using illegal aliens in their work force. There are in fact two groups (organized) who have a web presense for this very thing, citizen action groups encouraging LEGAL CITIZENS to drop a DIME ON COMPANIES HIRING ILLEGALS, big and small. Additionally, ICE is now starting to crack down on companies who have ignored non-matching numbers, and the Department of Homeland Security is proposing new regulations that would force the Social Security Administration to turn over to them, all information on non matching Social Security Numbers.
ICE is cracking down, and when you are caught, they are handing down serious fines, and you could face TWENTY YEARS IN PRISON...is it WORTH THE RISK? Are you willing to fact a TWENTY YEAR PRISON TERM for hiring a criminal? Those of you hiring illegal aliens know who you are....there is a good chance that either ICE or DHS will find out who you are...especially with citizens who walk into your stores, groceries, even the local Wal Mart are going home and making a call to report what they saw...think of it as a reverse lottery, and if you get chosen for enforcement, you ARE GOING DOWN.

- Immigration regulation is currently a hot and controversial topic these days, and the government is reacting with additional scrutiny of employment practices. Whether you are a large employer or a small family-owned business, you are required to comply with the federal immigration laws related to hiring and employment.
What was a "slap on the wrist" or almost zero enforcement against employers in 2004-2005 has turned 180 degrees this year. There have already been some well publicized raids on employers in 2006 who allegedly hired illegal aliens. Recently, a criminal indictment (Case #1:06CR079 filed in the US District Court-Southern Ohio District-Western Region) was filed against the Garcia Labor Company in Wilmington, Ohio charging that more than 1,000 temporary workers sent to ABS Air, an air cargo firm, were not authorized to work in the US. The firm's owners could face up to 20 years in prison and fines in the millions of dollars. in the District Attorney's press release, Julie Myers, Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) stated that "Companies that utilize cheap, illegal alien labor as a business model should be on notice. ICE is dramatically enhancing its enforcement efforts against employers that knowingly employ illegal aliens. Criminal indictments like the one unsealed today are the future of worksite enforcement."

Let's hope long Island sticks to it's guns on this issue. My city is trying to be a Safe Haven for illegals (Peekskill). They may regret that decision...I am looking into filing a civil rights action against the city for not providing me equal protection under the law by refusing to enforcement certain laws where illegal aliens are concerned.
For the record, there are a lot of very good temp agencies out there that would not do this. I don't want it to sound like they are all crooked or something.
Does ICE have an on-line illegal reporting site, or did you have to call them only?
Thanks.
