Tommorrow is my husbands 37th birthday, and I am having a big ole' birthday bbq for him. It is going to be complete with a cake that says, "Happy Birthday Old FART." Today I went out and did a bunch of shopping getting ready for the party.

I found this really cute table liner and bbq mitt at Dollar General. All of their summer picnic/bbq stuff was 50% off. They timed it just right. My husband was not as thrilled about the matching table liner and mitt as I was, but I did call my girlfriend and we chatted about how cute they were. Men just don't get it.

This cute liner was also purchased. They are vinyl so I can use them over again the next time we have a bbq. Although, I didn't really know that so much was involved in getting ready for one of these things. It may not be until the year 2018 before we have one of these again.

I also got this cute little 3 pack of fly swatters for 50 cents. I mean, come on', you can't have a birthday bbq without matching fly swatters to go with the decor. I should have gotten about 10 packs and I could have handed them to the guests as door prizes or something. ha ha ha

My husbands one request was a spray bottle to mist the bbq grill when it gets out of control. I came home and said, "Look honey, it matches the liner and the bbq mitt." He looked at me like I had three eyes.

These items are must haves at any bbq.

Do you think we have enough ground beef?? ha ha ha
My girlfriend calls me up today from the next town over (about 20 minutes away.) She says, "Mon, they have hamburger on sale at HyVee for a dollar and something a pound. I'm going to grab a bunch of it up for the bbq. She had the hamburger transported to our house from the next town over. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever. I am blessed with some good friends.

Gotta have these too. The rest of the meal will be a surprise. It's a carry-in for anyone that wants to bring something.

It looks like the weather is going to be really nice for a BBQ. Today it was sunny and nice (no rain), and about 89 degrees. Our back yard is covered in shade trees so it will be just about perfect. I hope my honey has a great night.

It's a double edged sword though. There are days he comes home and his eyes will be all glossed over about some new tool or gadget. I don't understand his excitement about those either.
My husband has been talking about doing a bbq for my birthday (it's in two weeks) but not a huge one or anything.
Ok Steph-in-NE, I will do that.
I have never heard them called that Debby O. (bee spankers!)
