What's a Girl to Wear?

Matt and I will be on mini-vacation soon for a week, and I need some advice on which dresses to take. Since I only have one week, I have to narrow down my choices.

Can I get some help from fellow Gatherers?

And the best part (aside from being on vacation), several of them have never even been worn. I bought them a few years ago and as time went on, I could no longer fit into them. Now they fit! 

 

This one has never been worn. I love the bright colors and the sassy skirt. It reminds me of a dress you would see worn by a salsa or flamenco dancer. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One of my personal favorites that I have not been able to wear in a couple years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 I think this one is cute, and a bit more on the conservative side.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 This one goes with the jewelry Matt's mom made for me. I am debating on whether to keep it or return it. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 This dress goes wonderfully with a pair of brown Asian sandals that I have.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This one is shorter than the others and hasn't been worn in many years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the one I am most hesitant about. It shows alot of skin! I am not sure if I am ready for that.

I thought of that too, Lynn. And the conservative ones tend to be more comfy...

Probably 5 of them, Michele. I would rather take too many, then not enough.

Like I know anything about dresses. I'd have to consult with one of the drag queens here in the city...and chances are; they'd want to keep the dresses and work them into their wardrobe. I can't believe you're going all 'girlie' on us...and how come we don't get to see the nighties you're bringing? Oops...it's a vacation...maybe she won't be wearing any nighties...LOL!

I am a person who likes modest cloths. I dont really like the last one. I agree that it shows too much skin.
My favorite is the dress goes wonderfully with a pair of brown Asian sandals. It is pretty and still a bit on the modest side.
I also like the ibe that you said is cute, and a bit more on the conservative side.

I really think you would look good in any of them....except the last one and I really do not like it. LOL

You have a natural beauty and you have a heart to match it. That makes for a natural attraction. You would look good in any of them. Have fun on your mini vacation!

And yeah, I think I finally realized I can't show all that skin anymore, which probably explains why I would never wear it.

My favorites...1, 2, and 5. I always tend to go for black...and I like to show some skin when you are young and can, believe me...when you get a few more years on you those halter dresses just don't cut it no matter what size you wear...it is the skin that changes. Don't forget to throw in a shawl or jacket...restaurants are freezing these days. Where are you going?

We are going to Reno. I have a couple shawls and light sweaters to take. They are neutral colors, so should match everything.

Shannon, I'd say take them all. Once there depending on your mood and where you are going and all the external stimuli, you will know which one you probably most want to wear. It would be a shame for that to be the one left at home.

Will you mostly be dressing up on the vacation and using dresses? Or will part of your vacation be in casual dress like shorts, jeans, or pants suits? The dresses all look nice. Just be sure to put at least one outfit in your carry on luggage if you are flying, in case your luggage gets lost! A friend of ours had all his luggage lost on the way to the Dominican Republic and it was never found again. He had to borrow clothes to wear on his trip (for a week). Good thing he went with a group! Who is keeping the doggies while you are gone? And cats?

Good question, Janet. I was just wondering if I want to do all dress up. I might pack some shorts and t's just in case. And we will have a live in pet nanny come to stay with them. We just couldn't kennel them!

I'm glad the pets get to stay home. My friend just spent 4 days at our Doctor's house with 4 huge dogs and 2 cats. They are very loving animals. We kennelled our dogs one time years ago and they all came home with a cough. Kennel cough. Never again unless there is absolutely no choice. Our neighbor didn't know what it was when he left his dog in a kennel overnight and it turned into a nightmare for him before it was over.

Keep it all simple, and don't forget about your hair. And for Pete's sake don't pile your eyelids up with shadow. Stay away from spiked heels and keep your legs shaved at all cost. good luck and have fun.
