Today we went floating down the river. I wore my one piece bathing suit. I am comfortable with my body BUT I am 36, have had 2 kids, my weight has yo-yo'ed. (I have gone from 230 to 160 and now I am at 180 - I'm not happy about the weight coming back but I am not yet freaked out)
So anyway, my 5 year old's (story in itself) sister- age 6 - is here visiting. After we finished floating, this 6 year old looks at me and says "You are embarrassing me so bad." I was just sitting there! I said "Huh?" She said "You are embarrassing me so bad. I just cannot believe you are wearing a one piece" ROFLMAO If this kid thinks I am embarrassing her wearing a one piece she should think about how she would feel if she saw me in a two piece!
So anyway, she goes on and On and oN and ON about how she just cannot believe that a grown woman is wearing a one piece. I tried to ignore her but dang this kid would not stop. "Why are you not wearing a two piece?!" I finally said "Because I am over 35, I have had two children, and I have a big ol' gut. I know that just because something comes in my size does not mean I should wear it." I know, I know - I suppose I shouldn't have said anything but this kid just wouldn't stop with the whole thing.
Maybe before next time I can find a bikini so I can agree with the 6 year old when she tells me how bad I am embarrassing her.
