I am from music and laughter
Eight tracks of super sounds,
From Perry Como, Sonny James and The Diamonds.
I am from a wondrous table
Filled to overflowing
Chocolate cream roll, English apple pie and rhubarb crisp.
I am from loyalty and listening
Warmth, trust, and patience
Get togethers, canoe trips, and barbecuing.
I am from my brother
Finding his way to peace.
I am from my sister
Finding her way home.
I am from my sister
Finding her way to love.
Shaped.

(youre not getting soft on your girl are you?!)
(Honestly, I don't recall EVER writing a poem)
Wow! I really enjoyed this piece. I love the way you ended it as well, "shaped" fits so perfectly. We all ARE shaped by these things in our lives, aren't we? In-fact, I think the title of your poem should be "Shaped" and just tag the poem "Where Am I From". Nice work here, darlin'!
Actually, William, it's my parent's music, they brought us up listening to the golden oldies.
I don't think there is anybody who can't relate. It makes me long for a time when things where simplier (though I don't know why...) Great job!
Good one, man! Every single word touched me that much more. I'm inspired also, although I have a Stuffing Hangover today. Not sure how to take care of that.
Thank you, Vicki.
I suspect from a level that Dante never got around to writing about..
Silence!
Darlin' Liz: The feeling is mutual.
I love my family and I love post that show family accepting
their loved ones for who they are, not who we want them to
be....we can only change ourselves.
For me its very timely NOW.....thank you
I do believe in that saying--- when the student is ready the teacher will come, so when I need help I just open myself up for it......what I need to see, hear, see, feel WILL COME !!!
