Why would you insult someone's child?

I'm still trying to figure out what I did to irritate whomever it is on here who doesn't like me.  Generally speaking, I don't care.

But to give a picture of my daughter a low ranking is just plain mean-spirited.  Say what you want about my writing, but leave my kids out of it.  Insulting someone's children is the perfect way to really hurt them, and an extremely low blow.

I didn't vote but I went back and gave her a 10. I forgot. I don't understand why someone would do that. I loved the picture. I'm sure the book tastes good too.

maybe they don't understand the rating system? I notice most stuff doesn't even get rated. Is it required? I just figured if I like it I'll rate it. Doesn't hurt, but now I see it can. I'm new here and maybe they are too! Most of my stuff doesn't get rated so I don't know. So Sorry. I'd give you two 10's if it would help you feel better.

I am sorry someone has done this to you. I think they do it so their article or pics will be the highest rated.
Lately I have found several of my articles rated 5 or below. Which I did not understand because there was no misspellings or things like that. I doubled checked. Just because someone doesn't like a pic or like what the article is about. That is no reason in my opinion to give a low rating.

I really hate when someone gives a low rating but doesn't give a comment on why.

Personally,I think gather should make where you have to leave a comment if you are going to rate something.

Thanks gals. Like I said, I can take writing criticisms and other photo criticisms with a big 'ol grain of salt. But my daughter is my heart. Makes me not want to post more kid-photos, even though I'm very proud of mine.

I'd rather not be rated at all if you don't like what I post (unless it's legitimately crap, kwim?).

If you're talking about the "ABC" book, I gave her a "10"....and child that is obviously "eating up" literature gets my vote anytime! LOL

I'm sorry to hear that someone is rating your articles and pictures. I guess they are just trying to see how much they can bother you. I hope it stops soon. I'll have to go see your picture! I need to see how to show pictures, I'd show my girls.
They are just cranky morons. Ignore them. Or better yet write articles about them and earn points off their stupidity :)

Maybe they thought, as I did, that the skills of the photog were what was being rated, not the subject.

People who criticize others children should stop and remember the old saying "People who live in glass houses should never throw stones." Children should be taught that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and apparently these morons don't know what that means or are too stupid to care.

Sherry, people are morons - not all, but some. You have to ignore them, otherwise you are giving them credibility where they don't deserve it. Forget credibility - you are walking into their trap - these things are done to get a rise out of you. They are not important in the scheme of your life and frankly, are not important in the scheme of their own lives.

Your daughter is LOVELY! And she gets a 10!

I hate being rated low. I always have to fight to not take it personally, but I think if someone rated a picture of my children low I'd probably cry.

I got upset when my stuff was rated low at first. Then I realized the rating system is not really being used as it was intended. So, just ignore it.

Sherry, This sounds exactly like something that I just went through in real life here let alone someone do that on the internet especially about your child makes me sick. My beef is someone talking about my 13 year old daughter behind her back especially when it's adults doing it and than putting the blame back on children. Adults can be worse than kids sometimes. Maybe I should write an article about this.I am still really tying to learn the ropes around here and fo some reason can't get my photos to upload even though they are jpeg on my end.
